Author note: This story will contain spoilers for entire DA series. I won't write spoilers alert at all chapters because you have been already warned. Also prologue is about my OC back story, so if you want to skip it go to first chapter.

PROLOGUE

"You're elven child of fortes. The eldest race which walked across Thedas. You bow to no one even before our people. You bow only before me, because I am only one standing over you except the gods"

This were words of my father, keeper of my clan. I was his first as once he was for his father. Our clan broke all contacts with other clans, cause they were to soft and gentle towards humans. We were wondering across Orlais forests. They were vast part of surface, so it was rarity to meet humans, but if this happened they were killed instantly.

I wanted to be a hunter all my life, but my father was blinded with power and urge of control. He wanted to plant in to me his ideas and continue them. He wanted me to be next keeper. I hated it. Life among my people wasn't easy. They were tired of life in isolation. They could feel they hate toward me. According to old texts and writings, keeper should be guide but my father was more like master holding leash and I wasn't far different from my father for them. I was always isolated, so as kid I studied and trained my body and mind.

A break through in my life happened when we met other clan shattered by band of mercenaries. They were assimilated to our clan because of death of their keeper and most of hunters. This was when I met her. Woman with scare on her face. She leaded the other clan. People called her Lin, which mean blood in elvish. My father gave me one mission. Seduce her.

"She is strong leader if you could make her yours you will have great control over both clans. Some of ours want to start rebellion now, but the other clan will do nothing with out Lin's permission. Before you ask, I am too old for her and she is near your age so it will be easier for you."

I started to get closer to Lin. After some time I realized why clans respect her so much. She was strong and wise hunter. She could easily do twice as much as other hunters. One night when I came out to participate in feast she sat beside me and asked

"Can you use weapon and hunt ? I haven't seen you at any hunt."

"No. It is forbidden for me. But as self defence I know magic well so I can protect my self."

"If you want I can give you some lessons of fencing and shooting. I think your father won't see difference between you going to train and you going to see how we are doing."

She had point. I could finally learn how to fight. We started to meet every night to train. She was harsh, but I learned many things. After months of training she challenged me.

"Today is Lunar fest so no one will notice us training and even if someone discover that we are gone it will be normal."

"Yea. It will be... normal. I think."

Lunar fest is festival in honour of first spring full moon. It's also very romantic day. Couples usually hide in peaceful place and do stuff from kissing to more intimate things. We sneak out as soon as my father ended his speech. It was serious thing. Rule was simple one who disarm opponent wins We used normal weapons, so we could get hurt or worse.

Lin attacked first. She were using two daggers. She always used them if she wasn't using bow.

I fought with two swords. I blocked and tried to knock out one of her daggers. She stepped back and pounce at me like wild cat. Lin sent one f my sword flying. I braced my legs and pushed her. She wast excepting this and felt down. Lin started to laugh over her lack of dexterity. I gave her hand. She stood up and seat on nearby stone.

"Nice one ! You won over me. So this is it. Student beats his master. My work is done."

Suddenly I felt pain in my chest. I realized that it is last time when we are this close and decided to do something very stooped. I leaned toward her and kissed her lips. She was looking confused at me.

"Ir isala lath. Lin."

After saying this I kissed Lin again. This Time she kissed back.

"Emma lath ma Revas"

Lin spoke to me. It was first time when I heard someone saying my name like that. Revas. It means freedom, but most of my clan say my name with fear or hatred

Next day I decided to go to hunt. I killed big white wolf. Everyone was stoned when I came back covered in blood and with big dead white wolf. My father was both proud and angry. Proud because his son get great trophy and angry because he disobeyed him. I was finally a man and I could do thing as men do. Five days later at the feast on the everyone eyes I went to Lin and gave her armour made from great white wolf. In our clan it was how engagement looked. If women took armour she agreed. Lin took armour and went to put it on. Now we were finally together.

Everything was good for year. We travelled to border of Ferelden. Everyone seemed good. They were confident that Lin won't make anything bad happened to clan. My father was ill so they were thinking that he will die and I will become keeper, so they were happy. Over anything else they were assured that keeper after me will be good, because Lin was pregnant. Also I started to talk to more people after my father fall ill. When we were in some old border forest my father called me to some old ruins. When I arrived here I saw something terrible. My father body torn a part. Suddenly I felt cold and than pain and heat overcoming through my neck. Someone shot arrow at me. I turned back and saw five elves. Two of them were covered in blood. They were here to kill me. I pulled my sword out and whispered incantation of shield to make sure that no arrow will hit me. I cut in half first one. The second one tried to stab me between ribs but because of mana shield his sword slipped over my waist. I pierced him through his throat. After receiving fifth arrow shield broke down. I jumped over nearest stone and concentrated my mind on position of my enemies and send lightning from skies at them. One of them jumped back, but he was dazed. I came to him and cut his tendons in legs.

"Speak why you killed my father ?!" I shouted to him

"It's revolution Da'len and revolutions demand sacrifice. You better kill me quick and go back to camp. Maybe you will be at the time to see your precious Lin slaughtered."

"No. I won't kill you you don't deserved that. I leave you here for wolf and crows."

I run back to camp as fast as I could. When I was near it I heard voices coming from there. When I run there I saw Lin with cut open belly.

"Why her you bastards ! She was only my wife she wasn't even part of our clan ! You should kill only me and my father."

"You are wrong ! She was part of clan after she married you ! She bore your child our next leach !

But it's over ! Now it's only you to take down from scene !"

I know that when he end his speech his people will attack me so I had put fire glyph under my. As soon as they get near me they started to burn.

"Now you." I said to leader. I came to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He was paralysed from fear. I said incantation and little blue flames started to slowly burn him alive. Ignoring his screams I took Lin's daggers and put on her my sword and said.

"First Revas died with his wife and child ! I died here ! This what left is named Minan ! This is my new name ! I will never return here ! Farewell !"

I'm Minan, Blade of vengeance. This what is left after you take all love, hope and happiness from life. I'm alive outside and dead inside.
