Bella opened her eyes. The sun was shining and her stomach was sore. "love?" She opened her eyes and there was Edward. She had survived. She remembered the pain, as Edward cut her open to get the child out. Her child, their child. A child that should have never been created. When bella was asleep she dreamed of the black hair brown eyed children she could have had. They had Jacob's smile. Jacob. Where was he anyway? She had been asleep for days and she wanted to get up. He was probably gone. He couldn't watch as she gave birth and possibly die from the creature in side her. "I want to get up." She said. "of course, I'm sure your ready to see our daughter." He smiled. Bell however did not. Was she ready? She had been asleep for a whole week, when she woke up with a beating heart no one could understand why. Edward had bit her when her heart stopped beating but then, it started to beat agin and it didn't stop. Bella was glad though. She could breathe , she could eat, she could live.
As she followed Edward, she could the sounds of cooing and aweing. His family must be in there all of them. Including ..her. Edward opened the nursery door but Bella she didn't go through. The first person she noticed was Jacob. She felt relief. He was still here. "Jake?" her voice croaked. He turned to her. Something was different. He didn't seem like her Jake. "bells" he whispered. Everyone else turned to acknowledge her presence. "Bella. Were so glad your awake." Esme greeted her in a hug. "Bella you look good, ..even if you are still human." Alice giggled. "someone has been waiting to see you Bella." Carsile said as he moved aside. There in Rosalie's arms was her daughter. And next to her was Jacob, a very sick looking Jacob. Bella took no notice of her daughter.. yet. "jake? What wrong? You don't look so good?" she asked as she reached for him.
Jacob did not move. He simply breathed she was human . A beating heart and blood pumping through her veins but it didn't matter. He was no longer hers. At least for now any way. He heard Edward growl.
"I'm fine bells. You should meet ..your daughter."
Bella took a breath she finally had to acknowledge the truth. She turned and her eyes met ones exactly like hers. Bella stepped back, this was not her daughter. The baby she had a week ago, should only be a week old. The child in front of her had to be at least three months. "w-what? Why is she?" bella couldn't even form the full question. "her growth rate is accelerating. Within three years she will look sixteen but shell truly be ten."
Bella walked out of the room. "Edward don't follow me." She needed air. Bella headed into the woods. Was this her reality now? "bells?" a voice whispered. She turned to find Jacob, looking at her intensely. He was sweating profusely. "Jacob really what's wrong? Your sweating, you have circles under your eyes. I can tell somethings wrong. please talk to me." She asked coming closer to him. "I- I imprinted. I imprinted bells. i.. imprinted on..renesmee. "
Bella was silent. Her shoulders dropped and tears began to fall. This was it. The one thing she and Jacob both agreed on was that they hated there choices being taken away from them. Her heart sank. He was bound to her daughter now. and within three years her daughter would look sixteen. Jacob would be stuck. Bella would be stuck. She would have to say her daughter was her sister. Her daughter would have to call he rby her first name and if Edward tried to change her again, there would be no way out.
"oh Jake. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have- I could have -we could have-" Bella began to panic, her sobs were getting louder. She felt Jacob wrap his arms around her.
"while you were asleep, I tried everything to break it. I still am. I was going to give up phasing, but the pack needs me. My pack does anyway. I won't send them back to Sam but wont let them go alpha less either. I'm trying bells I'm trying so freaking hard."
"...its ok Jake. Its ok, there's nothing we can do. " Bella said defeatedly .
She had given up. So had he.
