Hey! Okay, I'm gonna level with y'all, I know very little about Divergent so if I fuck up, please excuse it, sorry. But! I am a fairly decent writer and everyone loves Eric(aka Jai Courtney), so here's an EricXOC! Don't own Divergent, reviews, favs and follows are always appreciated. Enjoy! ^_^

"Ana!" a voice called from behind me. I turned and smiled at Beatrice who was jogging over to me steadily.

She grabbed my arm and gave a small smile, "How'd it go?"

"Fine. I mean, we all knew I'd be a Dauntless from the start." I snorted, pushing my long, mousy brown hair off my shoulder.

"So you're going to leave Abnegation?" she seemed nervous.

I frowned, "Yeah? Aren't you?" she shrugged, tugging on her pony tail gently. "Is everything okay, Bea?"

Beatrice nodded quickly and gave me a short smile. "Just a little worried for you, Ana."

As we walked back to our houses, I furrowed my brow. "Why, Bea?" I began to think that she really might stay in Abnegation. "Beatrice." I stopped walking. "Why."

"It's just...you're so small, Ana." that was true...but I had more muscle than anyone in all of Abnegation, AND I had the most fighting spirit. "And you get riled up way too easy, I'm just thinking that maybe you'll get hurt if you choose Dauntless."

Rolling my eyes, I sped up towards my house. "Wait, Ana!" she ran to catch up with me. "I'm sorry, but we've been friends since before I can remember, I can't help but be worried. You've always been the smallest..."

"Don't talk to me like that, Beatrice." I snapped as we stopped in front of my door. "I've wanted to be a Dauntless since we learned what the Factions stood for! The time has finally come and I won't be shut down by anyone, especially not you."

I stayed as still as I could while each sixteen year old was called up to choose their Faction. My heart hammered in my chest so hard I thought it might implode. Shut up, Ana. You're about to become Dauntless. You have no fear. You can't. I was next I realized as the boy beside me walked up to the stage and chose to stay in Abnegation.

I steadied my breathing as my name was called, "Anarelia Sparrow."

Focusing all of my energy on not falling flat on my face, I made my way up to the stage and swallowed roughly, trying to force the butterflies in my stomach out of my mind. "Ahem." someone cleared their throat and I quickly snatched the knife out of their hand, embarrassed at how long I'd taken.

I clenched my jaw and slit my palm open, refusing to wince as I strode forward determinedly and let my blood drip into the Dauntless coals. My blood sizzled as it hit and I heard several murmurs and gasps from the crowd which were soon drowned out by the sound of the Dauntless shouting and hollering, welcoming me.

Joy filled my body, tossing the fear out like a wet rag. "Ana!" I heard Bea's voice as I joined the Dauntless.

"Bea?" I frowned, wondering why she hadn't stayed with Abnegation.

She grabbed me and pulled me into a hug, "I'm sorry for what I said. It wasn't fair and I know you can handle yourself. And I decided...I need my best friend. If you're Dauntless, I am too."

"Bea..." I trailed off as the ceremony ended and we were practically shoved out of the area and towards the train.

I frowned as the Dauntless initiates around us began running. "C'mon, Ana!" Bea called, grabbing my arm and pulling me into a run. "We'll talk about it later!"

I couldn't help but feel exhilarated as I leapt onto the moving train and clung for dear life as I slipped slightly. "Are you okay?" Bea gasped as I clambered into the train.

Nodding happily at the adrenaline shooting through me, I gave her a thumbs up before turning to see a girl struggling to hold on to the train.

Frowning, I reached out my hand for her and yanked her into the train. "God, thanks." she laughed. "You know, you're pretty strong for such a tiny girl."

My original pleasant face turned sour and I felt Beatrice place a hand on my shoulder. "Um, hey, I'm Beatrice and this is Ana."

"Christina." she replied with a grin. "Stiffs, huh?"

I felt Bea tense behind me and I let out a low growl at the derogatory term. "Shut it, Candor." the snarl left me before I could help it and the girl seemed taken aback.

Bea stepped in front of me and laughed nervously, "Sorry, she's just...she's got a short fuse."

"That's unusual for an Abnegation." a boy said from beside us. "Oh, uh, I'm Will."

"Good thing I'm not an Abnegation, isn't it." I growled as Bea tugged at my arm in warning.

An unattractive, mean looking boy stepped up and smirked, crossing his arms. "This one's got a mouth on her, huh?"

I narrowed my eyes at him and turned my nose up, facing the outside that sped by almost dizzyingly. "Wait, are they jumping?" Bea asked worriedly.

Christina groaned and I grinned, adrenaline once again flowed through my veins. I stood back from the open doors before sprinting forward and flinging myself out, landing with a stumble on the roof. I barely heard Bea's yell before she dropped down near me.

I nodded towards the center of the roof where everyone seemed to be congregating and we jogged forward. "So...what'd you think of tall, dark and asshole back there." Christina snickered, seeming sort of bitter.

"Not my type." I snorted. "I go for more like tall, blonde and badass." I replied, bored.

Christina nudged me and nodded towards the edge of the roof. "You mean like him?"

My breath caught in my throat as a huge, blonde, grey-eyed man turned around and crossed his arms causing his muscles to bulge. "Heh." I whimpered weakly and Bea slapped her face into her hand.

"Hey!" the man boomed and all chatter stopped. "My name is Eric."

"Yeah it is." I breathed, feeling as though the butterflies in my stomach had been individually punched in the face and turned into wasps.

Thankfully, only Christina and Bea heard me. Unfortunately, Christina giggled and looked at me.

Eric's sharp stare pierced me and I froze in place. "I am one of the Dauntless leaders. Abnegation, step up."

Even though there were two of us, I knew from his glare, he meant me. I lifted my head high and stepped forward strongly, my gray cotton dress flapping around my thighs in the breeze.

"Was there something you wanted to say, initiate?" he hissed.

I gave a small shake of my head. "Like I thought. Stiffs like you don't belong here anyway."

Fury filled me and I leapt forward with my fist raised, but Beatrice was quick to run from the crowd and grab me, yanking me back. Eric raised a pierced eyebrow and gave a small smirk, "Two Abnegations? Well, if you want to be Dauntless, there's the entrance." he gestured to the edge of the roof and I stood on tiptoes to try and see over it.

"Who's first?" he was addressing the crowd, but I knew he was challenging both Bea and myself.

Bea stepped forward and stood tall, "I'll do it." she nodded.

Eric cocked his head to the side and shook his head, "What? Too scared to go first, little Stiff?" he sneered at me and before Bea could stop me, I was clambering up onto the edge of the roof.

I turned to face the crowd, but mostly Eric. "Bite me." I spat and leapt off the edge. I gasped at the feeling of the fall and my stomach flipped over and over until I hit something and bounced up with a short yell of shock.

Hands were held out to me and I took them quickly, not wanting anyone to jump after me and land on me. "What's your name?"

"Ana." I gasped as he pulled me off the net and onto solid ground.

"First jumper-Ana!" he called out and others began jumping down after me. Bea came next and then more that I didn't know.

Once Christina came down, we grabbed her and the three of us stood together, waiting for the jumping to end.

"Right! Dauntless-born, go with Lauren. The rest of you, with me." the group split up and we followed the tall man into a sort of corridor. "My name is Four, and I'll be training you all."

Christina spoke up with a smirk, "Four, like the number?"

"Exactly like the number." it was clear that he was sick of getting that question.

Not like I had any room to talk, but Christina really didn't know when to keep her mouth shut, "What happened? One through three were taken?"

As soon as the words left her lips, I glanced at Eric and completely zoned out. It was clear to anyone that he was a cold bastard...but it was also clear, to me at least, that he was...not...terrible looking. His piercings...his tattoos...his muscles...

I was pulled from my thoughts when Bea tugged me forward and we followed Four around the compound. We stopped in a large, open area with shops and music and fights and fun. "This is the pit, the center of life for Dauntless." he gestured around and I grinned, spotting a tattoo parlor.

"Follow me." he commanded and we all hurried after him. We stopped again in a large barracks with beds, showers and toilets. "This is where you'll be sleeping."

"Girls or boys?" someone called out.

Four raised an eyebrow with a small smirk, "Both."

Bea and Christine looked around nervously, but I just crossed my arms instantly knowing I'd be sleeping with some sort of weapon under my pillow. "Change into your Dauntless clothes and bring your old clothes when you've finished." Four ordered and left with Eric.

I lay out a pair of tight, black pants, a low-cut, black V-neck and a pair of black mid-calf boots.

Shimmying out of my Abnegation dress, I slid on the pants, using the bed I'd claimed as a balance to yank them up properly. A whistle made me turn my head to see the annoying boy from the train.

"Who knew you Abnegation girls were so hot, even the short ones." he smirked and I struggled to keep my temper under control.

"Go away, Peter. She isn't interested." Christina snapped. So she knew him? They must both have been from Condor.

I hurried to slide on the tight V-neck and shoved my feet into the boots before stomping to join Bea and Christina by the door, clutching my old clothes.

"Wow." Christina whistled. "Not to be like Peter, but you really do look good." she smirked as I ran my free hand through my long hair.

"When was the last time you had a haircut?" Bea raised an eyebrow.

Shrugging, I tossed my hair over my shoulders to rest on my back. "You know I never went home, no chance of getting a haircut if you aren't there."

She shook her head with a small smile.

As we sat in the cafeteria, I frowned, prodding the brown patty on my plate and suddenly feeling the urge to vomit.

"You okay, Ana?" Christina asked, drawing the table's attention to me.

I nodded, resting my head on my hand and pushing my plate away from me. "What's wrong? You don't like the hamburger?" Bea asked and I shrugged.

My mind strayed away from their conversation and I glanced up to see Eric watching me intently. I narrowed my eyes at him before huffing and looking back down at the table.

I thought about the burning of our old clothes. It had felt strange, made me feel...homesick. I'd never liked Abnegation, but for the first time in a long time, I wanted my parents. I wanted my little sister. I wished I'd said goodbye, hugged them, acknowledged them in any way before I'd left the house for the last time ever.

"I know what will make her feel better!" Bea suddenly exclaimed, causing several people around the cafeteria to look, instead of just our table.

"Tris," Christina hissed, shushing her. "Calm down! Eric and Four are looking at us now! Great job..."

Will shrugged, "Yeah, but Eric's been looking over here the whole time."

Christina suddenly got an impish grin on her face. "More like looking at Ana!" she started making kissy faces at me and I rolled my eyes, but couldn't help the small giggle that escaped me.

"And, no he isn't." I smirked, after Christina had stopped.

"Who are you kidding?" Tris let out a bark of a laugh. "Even when Four was taking us around the compound, he would look at you constantly."

"Especially when you burned your clothes!" Christina chimed in. "He was straight staring at you...not that anyone can blame him." she grinned, wiggling her eyebrows and pinching my butt.

I let out a short yelp and swatted at her hand. "Christina!"

"Calm down," she laughed. "Don't act like such an Abnegation."

Ignoring her comment, I added to the previous conversation. "Anyways, he was probably just planning how to crush me during training tomorrow."

"Planning how to crush that ass during training tomorrow." Christina giggled and I rolled my eyes, smacking her arm lightly as the rest of the table chuckled too.

"What was it that was going to cheer her up, Tris?" Will asked, going all the way back to the beginning of the conversation.

"Oh, right!" she leapt up and was back within seconds with a large slice of cake. "For your sweet tooth." she grinned, setting it down in front of me.

"You've got a sweet tooth, huh?" Christina grinned, poking my side gently and I couldn't help but blush lightly...having a sweet tooth wasn't very Dauntless of me.

"You sure you should be eating that?" a deep voice came from behind me.

I froze and shivers went down my spine before I turned around and glared up at Eric. "Why? Did you want some? Didn't realize you were into sweets."

"Explains why he's into you." Christina giggled softly to me.

The steely glare Eric sent her made it clear that he'd heard. "Just saying, Stiff. You don't need the extra calories."

I clenched my fists and stood up, spinning to face the much, much taller man. "Oh yeah? Keep in mind what you just said next time you find yourself staring at my ass!" I snapped, stomping out of the cafeteria.
