"I can't go on forever," Mr. Wonka said softly as the Great Glass Wonkavator floated high above the factory, "and I don't really want to try. So, who can I trust to run the factory when I leave, and take care of the Oompa Loompas for me? Not a grown-up. A grown-up would want to do everything his own way, and not mine. That's why I decided a long time ago that I had to find a child. A very honest, loving child, to whom I can tell all my most precious candy-making secrets."
"And that's why you sent out the golden tickets!" Charlie exclaimed, his pale blue eyes shining brightly like stars.
"That's right, so the factory's yours, Charlie," Mr. Wonka said calmly, trying to contain his excitement. "You can move in immediately."
"And me?" Grandpa Joe asked, still trying to contemplate everything that had happened over the past several minutes, from Mr. Wonka yelling at them for stealing Fizzy Lifting Drinks, to Charlie giving him the Everlasting Gobstopper, to Mr. Wonka's complete change in attitude as he told Charlie that he passed his test.
"Absolutely," Mr. Wonka said, smiling warmly at Charlie.
"What happens to the rest..." Charlie began to ask, but Mr. Wonka answered his question immediately.
"The whole family, I want you to bring them all." Charlie couldn't contain his happiness any longer, and before he could think of it, he embraced the person who he admired the most, the one who he had longed to see for nearly all of his life, Willy Wonka himself. They only let go after several seconds had already passed, and they were both filled from head to toe with happiness.
"But Charlie," the chocolatier said, "don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted."
"What happened?" Charlie asked, and Mr. Wonka replied with:
"He lived happily ever after."
