it's not funny at all

-Denki Kaminari

there is a sort of terror that

grips his chest and leaves him

breathless

when his own power

sparkling sunshine of sweetness and warmth, buttered popcorn with

comfort

trailing up his arm

and into his brain

he watches from within his own body

trappedtrappedtrapped

he can do nothing

when a villain attacks

bracing himself and maybe one of his allies will save him

(if only he could save himself)

the ones who laugh at his face and

arms displayed to say

"i'm okay i'm okay i'm okay i'm okay"

when he's not, Denki hasn't been okay with this in a while and this

terror

leaves him

breathless

because he can barley stop himself from crumpling to the ground

with this sorry sort of a face

twisted in pain

because loss of lightning

hurts

but lightning that attacks him

is even worse

dull moonlight of salty cold, dripping with garlic

coming with full blast as if he is a villain

(and maybe he is his own enemy)

for a boy who values control

(because he knows the feeling of losing this in an instant)

and his own intelligence

(because everything becomes incomprehensible babble and its all instincts and hazy images but Denki knows who those people are, laughing at him)

and he does not want to be trapped

and he does not want to be trapped

it hurts a lot for people to disregard his feelings

even if he never says a word

he watches Bakugo whisper quietly to Kirishima,

his classmates crying tears of laughter

and it's Mr. Aizawa who locks

eyes

with him

and

steers him to the infirmary where he stays until his arm is his arm again and he has his body and lightning burns in his stomach and it's Mr. Aizawa who presses a hand to Kaminari's shoulder, quietly coming to his own conclusions.

theres a pause, "it's not funny is it?"

and for once someone really questions

really looks

into Denki's eyes and

doesn't laugh at his sorry face

but sees that Kaminari Denki is trapped

trapped in his own body and he cannot leave

cannot look away from the spectators who laugh

at his shaking fingers

formed together to let them know 'he's okay'

So Denki presses his lips together and fidgets with his hands until he heaves a sigh because he is not used to this

not being okay that is

and quietly admits, "it's not funny," he swallows and clenches his eyes shut, " it's not funny at all."

edit: I rlly like this shoulder pat press thing tbhhhh

erm I think I'm gonna do these likkle one shots with every character

might bunch them up into one story tho
