Amanda Lynn Harkness was four years old, daughter of captain Jack Harkness leader of torchwood three, he was a single father since his wife passed on from breast cancer, it was hard on amanda but mostly Jack taking care of Amanda while working for torchwood.
Amanda was running around the hub like every four year old would do giggling Jack catched her running and having a smile on his face, not a real one he hasn't smile when his wife died from cancer, his happiness was gone everytime he looked at amanda see's his wife, amanda had some features from him and Holly. Jack sat down on the sofa in his office he never had a home of his own he stayed at work all the time he had a couch and his bed, he kept his bed on the floor so the team wouldn't see the bed he had his and amanda clothes in the closet next to the desk he took a picture from his pocket the picture was holly while holding amanda. he was trying hard not to cry. Amanda stopped running and looked at her father. "daddy what wrong?" she slowly walked to him and stopped in front of him.
Jack looked down at his daughter and smiles softly having a tear fall down his face he stutters. "n-nothing baby girl wanna come and sit on your daddy's lap i gotta show you something." Amanda walked over to her dad, he picked up amanda and put her on lap facing her to the picture, amanda looked at the picture wondering who the girl that was holding her. "daddy who that?" she point to the picture confused.
Jack looked at amanda surprised that she doesn't know who was the girl holding his baby girl he had more tears fall down his face while holding amanda. "That is your mother Amanda you um probably won't remember her, she past away when you were little hun." Amanda looked at her dad upside down seeing the tears falling down his face and frowns seeing him having tears, she turned around to face her daddy and wipe the tears from his face. "me sorry for mommy dying daddy." she looked up having her own tears falling from her cute chubby cheeks. Jack put the picture away in his pocket and wrapped his arms around his little girl rocking her back and forth soothing her so she can calm down. "you don't have to be sorry amanda you just didn't know what was mommy going through with the cancer but i can tell you that she will always be with us in our hearts, and she always watch over you and me in heaven." he tries to smile for his daughter thinking about holly." hey how about you and i go take a nap sound's good?" he smiled down at his daughter wiping the tears away from her face and his own.
She nodded slightly she loves sleeping and snuggling into her dad when she tired from running around the hub."sound good with me daddy." she smiled back at her dad and bury her little head in jack's chest and sniffle a little bit from crying earlier, jack kept comforting her while laying on the couch holding his pride and joy little girl protecting her from any monster or alien that will come their way.
Amanda put her head right on top of jack heart hearing it beat every minute slowly falling asleep, she loved every minute that she get to spend time with him when jack isn't busy with work or the team, now the team doesn't know that their captain jack harkness has a daughter and raising her on his own.
