Graves
"Here they are..." Landis drawled from where he sat curled in a corner of the small graveyard that was left inside the building, next to the entrance to the ship that had become a part of Budehuc Castle. "Here lies my victims... All of them... uhuhuhuhu..."
Sasarai had intended to get by, but the large black wings of this particular Star of Destiny were in his way, and the bearer of the True Earth Rune was forced to stand back and wait in eerie silence.
"This one will be... Vincent... And this one..." He narrarated as he carved names into crosses marking the tiny graves. "This one... will be Abel."
Sasarai, his lips drawn in a tight line, shot a look to his supposed comrade, a Dwarf who had stopped digging his holes to watch the show. He caught the Harmonian General's gaze, and the two of them sidled slowly closer to one another.
"What is he doing?" Sasarai asked, his voice sounding louder than he intended.
"And this one must be Cain! Ahaha..." Landis announced, sifting around in the dirt. "Silly Cain. It was your fault... I had to devour Abel... Uhuhuhu..."
"He's been doing this since he came here," the Dwarf replied. "Every time he eats a fish, he buries their skeletons. It's actually become quite troublesome for me, since he demands that I stop digging when he does it." The Dwarf frowned. "I'm never going to make it to the Toran Republic at this rate."
"EHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!" Landis cackled meniacally in the corner.
"Why does this seem so familiar...?" Sasarai murmured to himself.
"Mmmmhmhmhm... Perfect..." Yuber drawled quietly, his eyes shielded mysteriously under the brim of his hat. "Everything is perfect..."
"What is perfect, Yuber?" Luc demanded with an aggravated whine in his voice. He just wanted Yuber to shut up, honestly. There was a lot going on, and he had too much to worry about to be distracted with Yuber's unsettling laughter.
"Plenty." Yuber churred quietly. "I have discovered the most effective strategy in which to catch these fish. Observe."
Everyone stared blankly at him for a long moment. It was quite a sight - the mysterious man, reeking an aura of evil, wearing a black suit in the grasslands... Sitting on the side of the pond holding a fishing pole.
"Don't work too hard," Albert remarked bitterly, turning back to the books he had been reading. "We might need all that energy later."
Yuber said nothing right away, but made sure to cast an irritated glare over his shoulder at the strategist. "Hmmm... if only I could kill him... but that is not permitted. Instead... you will be my victims, creatures of the sea. I will rip off your fins and cut you in half and remove your innards before the humans devour you... It is just a matter of time... Mmmhmhmhmhmmm..."
"Master Luc," Sarah whispered to her companion. "That man scares me."
"It's fine, Sarah. He's after the fish now."
