Chapter 1: The Matthews

It was 6:00 in the morning and Maya woke to the sound of her alarm clock going off she is normally used to waking up to an empty house seeing as her mum has usually already left for work and that's exactly what happened today. She changed into her clothes which were her favorite rock band shirt, black legging with denim shorts on top and a pair of boots. Once she finished changing she moved on to her hair she normally just let it down and naturally curly so it reached just below her shoulder but instead she put it up into a ponytail and let her hair hang down her back. After getting ready for school she was ready to leave but was stopped by the sound of her grandma who was calling her from her room.

"Maya would you please come in so I can talk to you" Maya's grandma said

Maya did as she was asked her grandma was sick and had been like that for a while however she acted like she was still young and had all the energy in the world.

'Yes Gammy'' Maya said

''Oh good you're here I just wanted to tell you that I made my world famous brownies that you like to much'' gammy said

A smile grew on Maya's face as big as a smile could be

''I want you to take some to school today and you can have them on your break and share them with your friends'' Gammy said

'' Thank you so much gammy I will you're the best'' Maya said

''Oh and before you leave Maya your mum brought home some Tuna melt for you to have whenever you want'' gammy said

''Thanks '' Maya said she gave her a kiss and left her room

Maya still couldn't believe her mother she never saw her cause she was always working but something deep down inside her still made her love her maybe it was the way that she brought home tuna melt from work because she knew it was Maya's favourite thing there. Whatever it was it as working Maya liked her mum but not like a real mother would she felt closer to Mrs. Matthews then she did to her own mother.

Maya was walking up the Matthews apartment which is what she does every morning when she saw Farkle he was waiting there for her

''Hey Maya you look beautiful today how are you'' Farkle asked

Farkle was always one of Maya's best friends she had met him and riley before they could even talk and they have best friends ever since.

"Farkle you still haven't changed even you hair is still the same since I first met you'' Maya said

''Thank you for noticing however I did move once piece of hair and you didn't notice so I guess you don't know everything about me I'm mysterious '' Farkle said

Maya just laughed if she had never met Riley and become best friends with her then she would probably end up being best friends with Farkle. Then she pressed the busser so the Matthews could let them up to the Apartment.

"Maya and Farkle" they said

Riley turned when she heard the voices of her friends and said ''Come on up" riley said before buzzing them in.

Farkle opened the door to the Matthews apartment and let Maya enter first. Maya entered and she saw the same thing that she had seen every day since she started picking up Riley for school at 7:00, she was used to seeing Mrs. Matthews making breakfast ,Auggie and Riley eating it and Mr Matthews complimenting his wife's cooking. However today there was another face, a handsome face that looked familiar but she couldn't remember where she knew them from.

Maya just got lost is his deep blue eyes and his perfect hair that was messy on purpose but it still looked beautiful.

''Maya you're steering stop it" Farkle said

"I am not" Maya said

''You totally were you were making googly eyes at the guy at the table"' Farkle said

"No I wasn't and if you say anything I'll make sure I'm the bowler in gym and accidentally miss and hit you'' Maya said

Farkle just stood back and let it be then they both went and sat down at the dining table with the Matthews.

Corey looked at the confused faces on Farkle and Maya's faces then he broke the silence and said

''You guys remember my brother Josh right" Corey said

"Hey'' Josh said

Maya didn't know if she should say hey or hello she had so many thoughts flashing back of Josh.

She was about to say something when she was cut off by Farkle who said

''Sup Josh we have met before a couple of times before you probably don't remember me I'm Riley's friend'' Farkle said

''kind of remember you'' Josh said

''I know I'm kind of hard to forget'' Farkle said

''And you remember Maya don't you Josh'' Mrs. Matthews said

"Yeah I remember you'' Josh said

''Maya you should remember Josh you beat him bad in cricket as a kid, she's got the best pitch in her year you know'' Mr Matthews said

''Yeah I remember some things'' Maya said with a smile

Josh gave her a back smile and continued eating breakfast.

''Joshie is staying with us for a while and he get to stay in my room with me'' Auggie said

'' Yes I do little man your my favourite nephew ''Josh said

A huge smile grew on his face and Auggie then said'' But wait I thought we were twins?''

''Auggie remember what I said about your twins not everyone has to be one now let's go get you dress for school'' Topanga said

''I've been up since 6 o'clock'' Auggie said

''watching Mr Googly I bet'' Maya said

''I love Mr Googly'' Auggie said

''come on Auggie lets go'' Topanga said

''Its 7:00 Maya time for school'' Riley said

''See you later'' Riley gave her dad and Josh a hug good bye

''See ya'' Josh said

Maya Riley and Farkle all left for the subway.
