The other day, a certain pinkette was cleaning his closet up. Most of it was irrelevant, useless junk from his junior high days, some from his early years of high school. Old tests and beat-up notebooks were thrown into the trash, until a small box caught his eye. He picked it up carefully, brushing the dust off it. There, in blue ink, was a memory of his that had long ago faded. Letters, with a certain name, they were. Those old memories. He opened it, to see old, folded up envelopes, wrinkled with time. Picking one up, he sat and began to read.
"My darling,
How are you today? Did you ace that history quiz that you wanted? Anyways, I'm just writing this to say, I love the way you smile and everything about you. And, just to remind you, I can't wait for our very first date later today."
Kirino smiled, he remembered that day. It was a simple date, in a place that they had gone to so many times when they were young. He set the letter aside and picked the next one up.
"Hi sweetheart,
How do you do? I wanted to tell you, your laugh has been playing through my mind. And, I think I've found out something new, I'm falling in love with you. No need to rush, but maybe, you could close your eyes and just tell me. Do you feel it too?"
He knew it now. Kirino was head over heels for Shindou, though he wasn't sure of it back then. He simply thought it was just a small crush. Oh, how was he wrong.
"Beautiful, what's getting you down?
Love, what's wrong? I won't let a single tear fall down those beautiful eyes of yours. I promise, I'll search this whole town just to make you happy and smile. Why? It's because I want our forever to start right now. Don't you want it too?"
The pinkette had to hold back all his tears. He wanted to forget all those times and everything he had with Shindou, he really did. Yet, he was still holding on to his love, and he didn't know why, with a simple wish to take everything back. He was so young, too young to know he was in love with him. Finally, a small tear dropped out of his eye as he picked up the last letter.
"Hey Kirino,
How are you? It's been a while since I've seen you, being on a national team really sucks, huh? You know, I still love you, but don't worry. I know you've moved on, and I'm trying to. It seems like Ibuki and I aren't all that bad. Forget that, though. I'm hoping you're happy, even it's without me. And, I want you to keep smiling that beautiful smile of yours, alright? Follow those big dreams, maybe one day we'll meet again, this time on a national field. We didn't end all that well, but as I said. Be happy, even without me."
Slowly, Kirino folded up the letters, kissing them one by one. He placed them back in the box, closing the lid tightly. Finding a stray marker, he uncapped it. Right next to Shindou's name, he wrote, "Love Letters Inside".
A/N; I hope you enjoyed! This is based on the song Love Letters, if you wanted to know. Maybe leave a review?
