Help! I'm experiencing serious writer's block with this one.
"The answer is no, Johnny," Sue held the tv remote above her head, "if I have to watch one more Star Trek rerun I will sell the tv and buy an antique radio instead." Johnny had watched eight full episodes between breakfast and lunch and Sue was not going to have her afternoon ruined as well. "What else am I supposed to do in this place? We haven't had a job in three freaking weeks. I'm bored!" Reed looked up from his issue of Physics Today and stared at him incredulously, "You, a twenty-three year old super-powered collage drop-out, is bored in New York?" Johnny turned toward him with a witty reply on the tip of his tongue, but was cut off by the sounds of a large crowd coming from the tv. Sue, taking advantage of Reed's distraction, had turned on Channel 5 News. "Thanks, Jim," the reporter was saying, "as you can see, there's about a million people gathered in central park, all eagerly awaiting the Pink Floyd "concert of the year" as many young fans are calling it..." Sue tossed the remote to Johnny with a sigh of defeat. If a concert was the most exciting thing happening they might as well watch Star Trek.
Kristen walked into her apartment, ditched her book-bag, made a cup of honey lemon tea, and checked the time. Too early to leave and too late to get anything productive done, great. She flipped on the tv, nothing but a concert, some kids shows, and adds. She flipped it off and looked at the clock. She couldn't be late. Two months online and they were finally meeting face-to-face. Down to half an hour. She went to her room and started going through her wardrobe. She couldn't afford to look poor.
Ten minutes later she'd decided on light blue-grey skinny-jeans, a close-fitting lavender sweater and her almost-black leather clogs. She quick ran a brush through her long straight brown hair, grabbed a yogurt, spoon, and her purse, and was out the door hailing a cab with five minutes to get there and three minutes to spare.
Johnny stood as the end credits rolled for a second time, and pushed the power button. Ben looked up from where he'd been dozing on the couch, "Over already?" he mumbled. "Yeah," Sue asked suspiciously, "why stop now? in the middle of a two-parter?" "Well, I would give you some clever response, dear sister, but I'm kind of pressed for time at the moment. If you could excuse me." and he headed for his room leaving a confused silence in his wake. "Didn't he just say that he was bored?"
Who should say that and where should I go from there? (I have a plan just need the transition)
