Locker

DO NOT OWN TIGER AND BUNNY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SUPPORT THE OFFICIAL RELEASE I WANT A SEASON 2 AS MUCH AS YOU DO

"Kotetsu that locker is disgusting. Would it do any harm to clean it out?"

"Just because your prize possessions can be found at some fancy hair stylists' for 79 Stern a bottle doesn't mean the rest of us aren't sentimental, Bunny-chan."

"Whatever is 'prized' in there smells like it's been worn to practice three times and not washed because he left it here."

"Jeez, you say I'm meddlesome and creepy…"

Barnaby raised an eyebrow over his crossed arms. Tripping over the contents that had spilled out, Kotetsu was quickly wrapping cords around their respective devices, muttering as he shoved half of the belongings back into his locker. Something on the floor caught Barnaby's attention.

"What's this?" he asked with a sudden earnest interest while picking up a small object that fell out when Kotetsu first opened the vented door.

"That's uuuuhhh-nothing!" stuttered Kotetsu, taking swipes at the object in Barnaby's grip.

"These are-they're fixed…"

"What?"

"These are the broken glasses I thought I lost, and they're fixed, how did you-?"

Kotetsu had a cheesy grin on his face.

"I was going to give them to you but I sort of lost them around the other things I need to take care of, you know how busy we get these days…"

Barnaby had shut his hearing off. Nothing Kotetsu just said distracted from the fact that his glasses were one of the first objects that came spilling out from his cavern of treasures. He owned five pairs of the same glasses for practicality. He didn't think it was a big deal until he lost that pair-the day of the flashbacks. They were tortuous and ripped any kind of clarity from his mind, just like the spiderwebbing of a break in his lenses seemed to steal his vision away. He lost this pair a few weeks ago. Only Barnaby would know that this pair was special to him, had seen him through many tests, many good books, many late nights, many…hard times.

And here they were, repaired. Just like parts of Barnaby that only Kotetsu seemed to be able to repair. Exchanging the glasses on his face for those from the locker, he gave Kotetsu his most serious look.

" Do I have to arrest you for stealing, old man? These work too well to be my own glasses."

Kotetsu blinked. He blinked again. And then he let out a hearty laugh, one that filled the room. A laugh that made Barnaby feel like his life wasn't made of glass that could be shattered, as though maybe his life was made of something a little tougher that just needed to be put back together.
