Okay, okay, I know it's been forever but I've had loads going on in my RL that just does not bear scrutiny at this stage. Slowly trying to ease back into writing at the mo, so just a little piece to get me start. Kinda angsty but hey ho, when is this pairing not. Enjoy :)

Silly boy, you can't even see
that's she's building that wall
the one to keep you out
cause you've hurt her
& maybe it's just too much to take.
Don't you see
She took a chance
on you
forgetting the complexities
forgetting her pride
& you just had to betray her.
Maybe you never meant it
never meant to hurt her
but hey, you can run around
with your joy & your smiles
she'll bear it
Of course she will.
You see that wall
it's tougher than the ones that went before
made of steel
so it's far too slippery to climb
& she never, ever
wants to knock it down again.
She knocked it down, for you
let you see all the dark corners
let you glimpse the mess
tangled & destructive
beneath her bright façade.
Yet it all meant nothing
& you couldn't handle her
certainly not at her worst
so you sure as hell don't deserve her.
She knows this somewhere
buried deep within
but it makes too much sense
to be of any use
not now.
So she'll hide behind that wall
the one you gave her
protecting the scars
that are wrought across her heart
because she's dammed
if she'll let them
be added to.
After all, you're okay
with that beauty on your arm
you never promised her your heart
no, you never did.
Don't be surprised, silly boy
when she becomes someone
someone you don't even recognise
because she not going to hurt
not like that
not ever again.
She'll vanquish that girl
the one you knew so well
& a towering queen
will take her place
unmoving, uncaring, unyielding.
Stupid boy, it's too late now
she's learnt to block you out
because she just can't let you
damage her
no, not again.
Watch, from the sidelines
as the pages of her life overflow
with things you have little part in
& just remember
that you created this
after all, she is
your masterpiece.
