"Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walkin' home from our house Christmas Eve," Daniel warbled as the team followed him out of the restaurant.

"Daniel!" Jack said, stuffing his wallet inside his jacket pocket and inhaling the crisp, late evening air. Jack had treated the team to a holiday dinner at a new restaurant in Colorado Springs, and they'd spent another hour sampling the exotic drinks the pretty young waitress had kept plying them with.

"You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Grandpa, we believe!" Sam howled, doubling over in a fit of laughter.

"Carter!" Jack said, glaring as his second-in-command nearly toppled over. Sam and Daniel had spent the better half of the past hour teaching Teal'c Christmas carols.

"She'd been drinkin' too much eggnog," Daniel crooned, "and we'd begged her not to go."

"I think you had a little too much yourself!" Jack muttered, wincing. Sobriety had its downside, but it was an advantage tonight, with a half-drunk team trailing behind him.

"But she'd forgot her medication, and she staggered out the door into the snow," Teal'c intoned lowly, holding the word "snow" out for as long as he could.

Sam, arms fluttering out to her side, fell backwards into a snow bank, laughing hard.

"When we found her Christmas mornin', at the scene of the attack, she had hoof prints on her forehead," Daniel sang as he pointed at Sam's head, "and incriminatin' Claus marks on her back."

Sam rolled onto to her side, hiking her thumb behind her, and Daniel's voice turned hoarse, laughter thinning his voice.

Teal'c stepped over to help Sam out of the snow. "Now we're all so proud of Grandpa," he sang, "he's been takin' this so well. See him in there watchin' football, drinkin' beer, and playin' cards with cousin Belle," he belted out, a shit-eating grin on his face.

Jack shook his head and started off towards his truck as the three sang the chorus again, chortling as their hoarse voices cracked and wavered off-key.

Jack finally stopped a few feet away and took a deep breath before turning to the team.

"I've warned all my friends and neighbors," Jack bellowed out lowly, waving his hand to a surprised-looking passerby, "better watch out for yourselves."

Jack's grimace slowly turned to grin and he finished the stanza with a flourish, "They should never give a license, to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves," he sang, winking at Teal'c before he turned back to where his truck was parked.

Sam reached out to Teal'c and Daniel and linked arms with them. She pulled them with her as jogged to catch up with Jack, belting out, "Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walkin' home from our house, Christmas Eve…" Teal'c and Daniel joined her for the last line, lustily chanting at Jack's back, "You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Grandpa, we believe!"
