Summary - Continuous drabbles of Derek;Meredith when they were younger. AU
Author's Note - Most of these situations have happened to me, or my friends, or I have made them up. I just decided to give them a DerekMeredith-y edge.

1.
"You know, everyone hates me," you tell him, watching the numerous kids around you, and you swear that they were all giving you the go-to-hell look.
"I don't hate you," he states, and he's staring at you, not at all the pretty girls scattered around you, but at you.
You look at him, and he looks back and suddenly, your heart actually starts to beat (for the first time).
"Really?" you ask him, telling yourself that it was just a joke and that he hates you like all the rest of the kids, and that he'll answer with a simple 'No' and laugh in your face and run and tell all his friends how stupid you are.
"Really," he says, a simple grin scattered on his beautiful face.
So if he doesn't hate you then he has to what? Like you?
You can't help but smile back.
2.
You're sitting in the auditorium with about five hundred other students scattered everywhere, and again, he chooses you to sit by, to talk to, to look at.
You don't see it coming when he actually says it for the first time because you're too busy watching all the talented people on stage dance, and sing, and just stand there and be pretty.
"You're beautiful," he tells you, and you think he's just trying to make you feel better about yourself (since you've never actually heard a boy say that about you except that dirtbag that you used to go out with.)
"Sure," you say, looking the opposite direction of his figure in the seat next to you.
"Meredith, you are. You're beautiful," he says again.
"No, I'm not."
"Yes you are."
"No, I'm not," you say and then you feel his hand on your arm, and his finger pressing on your skin, and you almost die.
"Meredith, look at me."
You refuse to acknowledge his existence at this point.
"Look at me," he repeats, and you tell yourself that you looked at him just to make sure that his eyes hadn't changed a different shade of blue (as they always did).
"You are beautiful," he tells you with a serious face (not a hint of a smile), and you're glad that the speaker for the talent show interupts his speaking and gives you an excuse to look away.
3.
"I know this is a really stupid question, but how do you like to hold hands? Laced or not laced?" he asks you one day.
"Laced. If they're not laced, then you're not really holding hands," you tell him, not flinching.
"Really?"
"Really."
"I didn't know that."
"I know."
You're surprised that it's only ten seconds before he (mistakenly) laces his fingers with yours in the back seat of the crowded bus filled with (pretty) people.
4.
"Dude, what do you see in her?" his best friend asks one day.
"I don't know," Derek answers plainly.
"What do you mean, you don't know?" his friend pushes.
"I don't know, man," he says, then more quietly, "I guess there's just something about her that I can't let go."
