I wrote this for school for finals. The class loved it and I hope you guys like it too. Now go easy on me. It's my first poem on this site.
The day I saw the heart of Davy Jones,
I thought I was dreaming. I was not.
The sight of it sent chills down all my bones
Despite that the fact that the days there were hot.
My father told me of that captain's heart
And that he cut it out because of love.
"When she left him, his world had torn apart,"
he told me. That was my journey's start.
I searched for it and now I'm holding it.
And as I do, I feel all of his pain.
His love, his sorrow, I feel ev'ry bit.
Now I doubt I will ever be the same.
But now don't feel sorry for Davy Jones,
For I stole his heart, and gave him my own.
How'd I do? Please tell me.
