Author's Notes: I'm new at writing fanfiction so I'm sorry if there are any mistakes or the characters seem OOC , but I am a huge fan of the Big Bang theory and Shamy so I thought I'd give this a go:)
Disclaimers: I do not own the Big Bang theory or any of the characters.
Amy Farrah Fowler sat in her apartment after another date night with Sheldon. She had been mulling over a puzzle, since she had dropped her boyfriend off at his apartment two hours prior. She flipped back and forth between her memories, trying to find clues that would help solve her current conundrum. Although she didn't possess the sexy eidetic memory of one Sheldon Cooper, she would not say she was one to easily forget things, so how had she have forgot a momentous occasion such as this?
The event in question was falling in love. Yes she Amy Farrah Fowler, who had sworn that love added no value to human relationships, was head over heels in it. With one brilliant physicist that was oblivious to the fact. She thought back to their very first meeting just over three years ago. It certainly wasn't then that she fell in love with Sheldon, although he did intrigue her in a way no one else ever had. Was it the first date? No. Was it when he met her mother? No. Amy sighed in frustration, no puzzle had ever taken her this long to solve before, she had more questions than she started with and she was no closer to answering her initial question.
She got up to make some tea, to give herself something to do as she pondered. Her eyes scanned the variety of tea bags before resting on one that brought an involuntary smile to her face. Chamomile. It was the tea Sheldon usually prepared for her, because he knew it was her favourite. The tea she would drink as they talked about their day, or play a brain simulating round of counterfactuals. Sheldon would always tell her fun facts that he knew she would find amusing or interesting. Sometimes she would already know them, but she would listen anyway as it was nice to know he thought about her. Most of the time they would just sit there enjoying each other's company, sharing what some of their friends jokingly refer to as 'eye coitus', and she would feel completely at peace.
As the kettle whistled, announcing the now boiled water, the answer to Amy's conundrum occurred to her. Maybe falling in love didn't have a specific date or time, it just happened . Maybe love wasn't structured or planned or logical, it just hit you when you least expected it too. It surprised her that she was okay with that. Someone who's life was led by science and logic was okay with the fact that love might just be, love.
As she was sat thinking this, her phone buzzed, indicating she had a new text message. From Sheldon Cooper: Amy,I hope you enjoyed date night as much as I did and managed to get home safety. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow for dinner, and hope you can achieve sufficient REM sleep. Sheldon. Amy's face broke out into a wide grin as she hastily typed a reply.
Yes, relationships can sometimes be a puzzle, but her's was the perfect enigma.
Authors Notes: Thanks for reading! If you could review it would help me a lot, again I'm sorry if there are mistakes it's my first go:)
