It was an honor that he thought he didn't deserve. To be bestowed with Kira's very own Death Note and given the responsibility to continue His work! Mikami stroked the black cover of the Death Note lovingly, wishing that he could live up to Kira's expectations.
He wanted to meet Kira in person, to be able to see the great person in the flesh, to be able to touch Him…
Kira was God and Mikami was God's right-hand man. He was proud of this fact and vowed to do as God commanded. He wanted to make his God very proud.
