I'm bloody and beaten, staring blankly ahead.

I'm back to myself yet I wish I were dead.

I'm tired of fighting and tired of faking

Fine on the outside but inside I'm breaking.

Losing control and losing all hope

With this curse I can no longer cope

What will they say when they find me tomorrow?

Will they fall to their knees, overcome with sorrow?

Ha! Unlikely! I know what they'll say.

"The monster is dead! Yippee! Hurray!"

They'll laugh and they'll sneer, they'll point and scoff.

They'll say to each other, "I can't believe he'd the guts to jump off!"

With silent grace I climb unto the ledge.

I shuffle my feet 'til my toes meet the edge.

I close my eyes, blocking out the coal-blue sky

I spread my arms wide; I'm ready to fly.

A gentle wind bows bloodied bangs from my face, I start to sway

"This is it." I think. "I'll never see another day."

I never thought it'd come to this. I thought I could handle it, thought I was strong.

I was wrong.

In the distance, a lone wolf sings the same sad song.
