A young 11 year old Albus Potter sat on the train, peering out through the window on the landscape passing by. He looks as he was thinking about something, wondering, he was sitting alone in his compartment wondering where his friend was. He had dark, almost black hair and green eyes, he'd just flipped his hair back, and helped himself to a second piece of candy from the giant candy bag his parents had bought him, when the compartment doors slid open and another boy looked in.
' Hi Rose' said Albus, who did not take his eyes from the window, thinking it was his friend returning.
'hi' another voice, it wasn't Rose, whom he'd been waiting for.
Albus looked up to see a fair-haired boy, with very distinct cheekbones.
'hi' the other boy spoke again, looking curiously at Albus.
'Hi' said Albus 'I'm Albus' he smiled.
'My name is Scorpius' the new boy replied, pulling his hair back, and fixing his shirt. His shirt already bore a logo of a schoolhouse, the serpent of Slytherin.
'Are you on your second year' asked Albus, looking at Scorpius shirt
'no' Scorpius replied, looking a bit gloomy for a second. 'My dad and I are sure of where I'm gonna end up' the blonde boy responded with a hint of a smirk on his lips.
'Oh' Albus looked puzzled; 'I don't want to end up in Slytherin' he sighed, 'but I think I might…' he looked up at the blonde boy who was still standing in the doorway. 'Sit down if you want?'
The blonde boy slowly sat down on the opposite side from Albus and looked curiously out through the window. They never realised that time had passed when the cabin door opened and an older boy, dressed in a school uniform, with a yellow and black tie, 'Hufflepuff' colours, stepped in to the compartment. 'Hi there, first years' the Hufflepuff boy said. 'I just want to inform you that it's time for you two to slip in to your uniforms, 'cus we will be arriving soon.
The two boys looked at each other, and smiled when they realised that they had been sitting there quietly, looking out the window, for at least an hour. 'Well' Albus said, looking up at the older boy, 'thank you'. With that, the older hufflepuff boy left, and closed the door to their compartment.
'I'm already in my uniform' the fair-haired boy replied, 'so, I'll guess I should start walking towards the exit' he tried to smirk again, but Albus thought that it looked more like a smile to him. Albus smiled back. 'Great, then I can start changing.' He really didn't want to change clothes in front of the other boy, the words of his brother, James, echoing in his head –'you are very small for your age, Albus, That does gonna be a problem for you…'
Albus snapped out of his thoughts, and looked back at his new friend. 'See you outside then'? It was more a question then a statement from Albus, who really would like a friend, especially one whose company he could enjoy for an hour, in complete silence. 'sure' said Scorpius, and exited the compartment, and closed the door with a bang.
In a few minutes the train had come to a complete halt at Hogsmede station, and as Albus exited the train, he found to his surprise that Scorpius was standing there waiting for him. And for the first time they heard the words 'firs'-years! Firs'-years over here!' from the giant man with the beard, Hogwarts groundkeeper, Hagrid. They both looked at each other in excitement, as they joined the growing group of eleven-year-olds around the giant.
