The day I swallowed my COM badge!
"It was another boring day in the Delta Quad. No one was attacking us and we had not lately had any accidents, well unless you include us shooting Neelix out of an air lock. But I swear, how were we to know that he was in the airponics bay when we decompresserised it. Oh well who cares. Anyway, we were all bored at the time it happened. Because of the fact that I am Tom Paris, I just had to have a betting pool on to pass the time. Today's pool was for the bridge crew. Whoever can balance their COM badge on their lips the longest would win. Well, only me, Harry and Chakotay would do it. Everyone else was giving us dirty looks. Ready, set, go I said and we began. Harry only lasted 20 minutes but me and Chakotay just kept on going. Oh, good times. Well, after about 45 minutes, we ran into some Borg cubes. Of course Chakotay put his COM badge on right away but being me, Tom Paris, I had to keep it on. We were hit with a tractor beam right away and the ship jolted. I opened my mouth to yell at the person driving, but by the time I realized it was me driving, I had swallowed my COM badge. That must have been the most embarrassing time of my life. I felt it slide down my throat and into my stomach. Harry was screaming like a little girl and Janeway was calling sickbay.
We managed to escape, (no thanks to me. I was passed out in sickbay the whole time,) but the doc just could not get the COM badge out of my gut. Harry and Bel'anna just would not let me live that one down. Anyway, it's been three months and thank goodness for me I have not swallowed anything unwanted for a long time. (Unless you count the 6 paper clips, 4 erasers, the tube or lip cream, the computer chip, the thermometer and well a whole lot else that I will not go into.) Well since then every time we have a dull day on the bridge, I set up Xs and O games!
