You really can't guess how random this is. Well anyway, I wrote this for this project I had to do for English class. I had to write an alternate ending for the first book of the Hunger Games. I hope you enjoy this, and please review.

I do not own the Hunger Games :)

"I can't believe it's all over," I whisper to Peeta as we walk back to my old house, the one I left before volunteering for the Hunger Games.

"Yeah. I guess so, huh?" He grabs my hand and pulls me back.

I giggle. I turns out the Capitol didn't want to do anything to us yet, even though that whole thing with the berries happened. But you can never be too cautious, so Gale and I stopped hunting in the woods, well, at least I did.

"So what happens now?" asks Peeta. He squeezes my hand tightly.

"I don't know… But the Capitol may still be after us. We have to be careful," I say, and start to walk again.

"Maybe you're too careful, Katniss. But I guess we'll stick with that for now." He follows me to my house, then opens the door and waits for me to go inside. "Ladies first." He says in a cool voice.

"Mom, Prim. I'm home," I call as I nod to Peeta and step inside.

We finally had enough to eat, my mother, Prim and I. Maybe the Games did have a good side after all, but there was too much suffering just for food. I could never have imagined Prim going through the same thing I did, ever. Gale stopped talking to me, the only time we were together was when we saw each other at the Hob, and even then, it was awkward, because neither of us ever said a word.

Buttercup quickly comes to greet me with a hiss, followed by what seems like a grin before he turns around and faces Prim. "Katniss." Was all Prim says.

"Should I leave?" I turn around and look at Peeta. "I don't want to be any trouble," he says and heads out the door.

My mother is probably in the kitchen, and she would tell him to stay, but I don't feel like talking to anybody right now, so I smile and say, "See you tomorrow."

His gaze is surprisingly cold, and his voice hollow, "Yeah. Bye." He turns around and closes the door behind him.

"Katniss," Prim repeats my name, "are you ok?" I notice that my face is scrunched up and I am frowning.

"Fine." I lie. I walk to my bed and flop down on the hard mattress. I'm tired, very tired, and in a few seconds I already drift to sleep. The Capitol isn't going to do anything to my family, I think, the Capitol and Presidents Snow forgot about me.

I realize that Gale is sitting beside me, frowning. "Really?" He says.
