The Real Warrior
A Short Story by Nitwam Shric
The hail hit the roof loudly as the Zoid sat in the garage. He stood there, waiting for his master to come and take him to another heart taking battle. The lights were off when the garage door opened suddenly. Bit ran to the Zoid. The Zoid's head lowered, knowing excatly what the Zoid Pilot wanted. The orange cover for the pilot's cockpit opened and Bit climbed in.
"Let's go, buddy!" Bit said to the Liger-0. The Liger roared and raced out of the garage. Bit loaded some maps and the coordinates of the battle into the Liger-0's system. Liger growled and ran towards the battle field. Bit was safe from the hail, but the Liger could feel it bang into his armor. Of course, it wouldn't damage the giant machine at all. When they got to the field, it was only them. It was Bit, Liger, and their enemy. A Command Wolf. The Liger looked around and spotted something in the distance. On the pilot screen, an outline of the Zoid appeared, then went into the corner and a big picture came up. A Gun Sniper. This would be an easy match.
The judge hadn't come and wouldn't be coming. It was an unauthorized match. The Liger blasted forward. He jumped and slammed onto the Command Wolf. He pushed off and ran towards the Gun Sniper. Bit looked back to see the Command Wolf fall, defeated.
Liger just managed to dodge the four shots that the Gun Sniper fired. Once the sniper was in view, Liger-0 noticed. It was on a cliff. Liger roared as it shot at the Gun Sniper. One of the bullets hit. Liger ran back towards the Command Wolf, but not far. He turned running at full-speed. He used his boosters to jumped up at the cliff. He hit the edge, and some of the dirt and rock started to fall. Liger ran to safety as the Gun Sniper started to fall.
The Gun Sniper hit the ground and just laid there. Liger walked over to it and scratched it for the kill. Like Liger thought, it was an easy match.
BACK AT THE GARAGE:
Liger stood in the garage, watching his master go back inside. Liger-0 sighed to himself, not truly being able to. 'This is my life? My life sucks. He think he is the warrior. But I am the real warrior. Why does he get all the attention when I'm the one fighting, risking my life?'
