"Jessie, Jessie," Will called out. It was time for the truth. To let the guilt of the past go before he married Tessa tomorrow.
"William," a voice said from behind him. Standing on the steps of Institute was Jessamine. She still wore the same gown covered in blood that she died in.
"Hello Jessamine," he said, relieved to see her.
"I'm guessing you need some advice before the wedding?" she guessed, noticing his nervous state.
"Sort of," Will answered, "you see, there's been something on my mind -a confession I have to make- and you're the only one who I can confess to that can ease away the guilt."
"Is this about Jem?" Jessie inquired. "Because you shouldn't worry. Jem would understand and he gave you and Tessa his blessing anyway."
He cut her off. "This isn't about Jem, it's about me and you," he admitted, the words tumbling out.
Jessamine's eyebrows shot up. "Oh," she said, "continue."
"Jessie, I treated you the rudest because I was in love with you," Will confessed.
"William!" Jessie gasped and looked around her. Will understood why she did that. If Tessa had heard him, the wedding would be off in an instant.
"No, I don't love you anymore like that. It all changed when I met Tessa, but I was in love with you the moment you came to the Institute. I remembered the curse and I treated you rudely because of that," he explained quickly.
"Oh William," she gave him a small smile, "I would have still treated you bitterly anyway. I came to the Institute with hate in my heart for any Shadowhunter, even poor Charlotte."
Will smiled back. "I only told you this because you assumed I hated you back then when I really loved you."
"Of course Tessa changed that when she came into your life," Jessamine added.
Will smiled. "Yeah she did," he agreed, "she changed a lot in my life."
Jessamine's eyes widened. "Someone's coming," she said, "goodbye William."
Will replied, "Goodbye Jessie." She smiled and disappeared.
"William! By The Angel, what are you doing there standing in the heat?" Charlotte said running down the steps. She had returned to the small Charlotte everyone knew before she got pregnant for she had given birth to Charles one month ago.
He gave her smile. "Just clearing my mind," Will replied.
"Is this about the wedding?" Charlotte asked, concerned.
"Don't worry Charlotte. I'm okay. I'm ready to marry the girl I love," he replied as Charlotte smiled proudly at Will.
But I'll never forget about the first girl I loved, William thought.
After Jessie's death, I secretly began shipping these two. I got this idea that Will could have had a crush on Jessamine before Tessa came and that's why he was so rude to her. I hoped you loved this.
