She's just made the biggest mistake of her life, even bigger than letting Dr. Longbranch give Jack a Warrior's stone instead of a Wizarding Stone- and yet, she feels almost peaceful about it.

She's having a baby.

All right, so she's not even eighteen yet and Becka has her own infant to deal with and doesn't need to look after her nearly-grown little sister and her impending motherhood. And she can forget going to Lee- as much as she loves him, she's also fully aware of how wrong he is for her. Even if he were willing to take and her and their child in, she knows she couldn't stay there long. It's best to turn away completely from the past and figure out a new solution for everyone.

She just…needs to leave. Right now. Before Jessamine Longbranch finds her again and discovers her newest secret. This baby should be a wizard, but there's no way to be certain until the child is born. And she does not doubt Dr. Longbranch's interest would be perked with such a child. Even without knowledge of who the father is, the doctor would want the child.

And if she ever found out that the child was fathered by Leander Hastings, long-time enemy of the Guilds…

She won't let herself think that way. Right now, she has to prepare for a journey. If she can escape the Trade, and she's done so before, leaving the country shouldn't be hard. She'll need a midwife, eventually, and supplies for the baby. A place to stay after the baby is born. A plan of what to do after the child is born…

Collapsing further into her chair, she puts her head on her knees and sighs. She loves this child already, only minutes after learning of its presence in her. But…but it couldn't have come at a worse time. Not when the Guilds are raging war and Lee's away, causing trouble to both sides, and…

And she's seventeen and pregnant- and alone.

This isn't something her powers can help her with. This is something she'll have to do completely alone.

She can't be a mother and fight at the same time. She can't expect to raise a child, while she's busy trying to set things right. She promised Lee…

But she's also promised this child a chance at life. She owes this child a chance. Somehow, someway, she'll manage. Even if she has to take down the guilds herself, she'll give this child the chance to have a free future, regardless of what parent it takes after, as either an enchanter or a wizard.

She needs to make a stand, speak out for what's right. Teach the Houses that not just wizards have rights, break out of this outdated system. She'll make the Dragon rise again if she has to.

She'll do it all- for this child.
