So he closes his eyes and drifts off, the light of the moon gently pouring from the window. The light illuminated everything in a soft glow. As time went by, Jotaro s lax face started to scrunch up, it seems even in sleep he couldn t find any peace as nightmares start to plague him.
The screams of people he witnessed die, from close comrades to innocent bystanders filled his mind. He sees them coming from the swirling shadows. Some reaching out for him, blood dripping down their bodies, shambling towards him. Pleading to save them and end their suffering, some sneered calling him weak for not doing enough, while others howl for his blood to rip his cursed blood right from his veins. He feels them slowly rip into his flesh. Trying to reach his heart. Over it all he can hear the mad laughter of Dio echoing away. Jotaro could only stand there bearing the brunt of their misery. He deserved it, all the pain and torment, he knew it. With a bow his head, he prepared for the worst.
Then everything stops the sounds, the people, and the horrible pain. He blinks, looking around trying to understand what was happening when he spots something from what would be the sky. A huge clawed hand hovering over everything, its color was like that of a cosmic night sky with stars glinting like diamonds.
At first, it did nothing the fingers moving ever so slightly. Then it slowly makes a come hither motion as it looms ominously from above. Everything around Jotaro slowly begins to melt and ooze in a sickening pile of bubbling gray sludge. All of it steadily rises from the ground forming into a ball that rose towards the palm of the strange hand. The closer it got, the clearer the orb became, when the hand finally grasped it, it had become clear with a glittering sheen.
Jotaro stood in shock as the hand slowly drifted upward seeming to take his nightmare with it. Right before it disappeared from sight he sees a pair of glowing eyes staring at him.
With a jolt he wakes up, his heart pounding, it takes him a few minutes to finally calm down. He tried to remember his dream, yet all he can remember is the hand that took it away and nothing else.
He reaches around to find the switch to the lamp on the nightstand, he can only see shadows cast by the moonlight. Including on that someone else being cast from his window. He quickly rushes from the bed, his stand comes out ready to fight, but he stops when he see just what it is.
Hello Jotaro, I m sorry that intruded on your sleep. The hulking figure said climbing off the window sill. You seemed so uncomfortable, I had to intervene in some way.
The light of the moon finally touched the being s face, revealing the soft blue eyes and sheepish smile of Jonathan Joestar.
Jotaro blinks before shaking his head. Waking me up would have been easier, Jonathan, he says in mild exasperation. I m guessing you had my dream as a midnight snack?
I haven t eaten it yet, I was trying to avoid waking you up. He embarrassedly admits, he lifts his hand up revealing the same clear orb from the dream. If you don t want me to eat it, I ll gladly toss it.
For a moment, Jotaro does nothing but look at the orb. It was odd to think that it was the nightmare that had been haunting him for years. He looks at Jonathan for a moment and huffs. It s fine, it will be interesting to see how you go about eating. He can t admit out loud how thankful he is for the odd gesture.
Jonathan smiles whiles he s only known his descendant for a few years now, he s gotten quite good at reading the other man. Of course, I hope you find interesting. The silent your welcome went unheard.
