Woot! It got written! My very first piece featuring a pairing that gets extremely little love. The awesomeness that is LexaeusLarxene.

Disclaimer: Don't own any of the characters. Just the writing.

None of them had expected him to choose their one female member as the one he would grow closest to. Even he wasn't quite sure why he'd chosen her but he had come to terms with the decision, no longer caring about why. The Silent Hero was instead doing his best to overcome his inexperience in such relationships.

His blue eyes focused on her small figure, watching Larxene as she glared over at Marluxia and Vexen. She had one hand on her waist, the other hanging by her side as it clenched and unclenched. Again, Lexaeus was reminded of how the Nymph had originally been drawn to Number XI and his own ungloved right hand moved towards hers.

As his fingers wrapped around Number XII's hand, she stiffened slightly and turned her head towards him. Aqua eyes met blue for a moment, the Nymph seeming to consider his offer again. It was only for that short couple of seconds, though, as she stepped back and leaned against him. "It would be nice of you to react for a change," Larxene mused. "At least I can get a rise out of the others."

The Hero allowed himself a small sound of amusement, more than the others ever heard resembling emotion from the stoic, and shifted his left arm to very lightly hold his much smaller companion closer. Looking down at her, Number V wondered, "When you get more from me than any of the others ever even see?" That was a bit of an understatement but he wasn't quite ready to admit that with some of the others present.

There was a fierce giggle from Larxene as she gazed up at Lexaeus' strong face. "Maybe. You know that Xaldin's noticed already and if he knows, Xigbar's bound to know as well. What's wrong with hinting at it even more, making it obvious to everyone else for a change? Or are you still too shy?" It was another of her usual jabs at the Hero's reservations. Because of his inexperience, he still was as close to uncomfortable as he could be with doing anything as open as the others would do.

Grinning, as she was apt to, the Nymph turned around in Lexaeus' grip and reached up the place one of her hands on his cheek. Her other hand idly found neck of the gentle giant's shirt and she tugged herself up. "I should work on that, then. I can't have you staying timid forever, now can I?"

Lexaeus changed his grip to support the Nymph's slight weight and pulled her closer. It was an improvement from earlier, and he allowed his features to soften, nearly smiling. "Change is inevitable." It was just a statement, but, for the time being, it would appease Number XII.

With a small chuckle, Larxene claimed a kiss before reminding, "Just don't forget that I won't let you off the hook."
