There was once an extremely corny and overdone fanfiction in this spot which was (as most of my fanfiction is) verging on original fiction. I took it off for three reasons: 1) it was unbelievable and embarrassing, 2) I don't ever want anyone to read it, and 3) the Mary Sue busters on the "Mary Sue Report" LiveJournal community had a chance of finding it and tearing it to pieces (not that I'm paranoid or anything).
Now, thankfully, I get more excited about my own work than I do about others' creations...which is the reason why I'm taking a few of the characters who were in this story (namely, Stephanie Taylor and her half-siblings) out of the Cardcaptors / Card Captor Sakura context and placing them in their rightful spot: an original novel-in-the-works.
When I first posted this story, a certain reviewer mentioned that Charisma Collins was somewhat of a Mary Sue. Not true--- Charisma ended up being evil. The real Mary Sue in the story (which I didn't notice when I wrote it, of course) was Stephanie Taylor. So what I plan to do is to bank on the Mary Sue theme in my novel by casting her as the seemingly perfect woman, wife, and mother...who really isn't so perfect after all.
Because the novel is a timeless and simple social criticism, it's got a pretty low rank on my priorities list at the moment. I'll most likely publish several other, more shocking stories before I get around to finishing it.
Signed,
Agathy.
