I Heard That Song Before

She had heard the song once before, and it sounded awfully familiar to her. The melody was seemingly eternal, distant and shifting in her memory, comforting yet marred by sadness at the same time. She remembered the hidden meaning it held within that very song, and she never forgot the way the tune coalesced in the empty room, creating the nostalgia she had always dreaded.
Her mother used to sing it to her when she was a little girl, the voice forever silenced even after death. Her mother was never around for long, for it was because of great tragedy taking away what she once had. She never thought she would hear the sweet air ever again, until now, with Michiru Kaioh's calming music ability mixed with the darker, tempestuous past crashing down into realization.
In truth, when the song came to her senses once again, after so long, sadness and relief came to her, unveiling her vulnerability and her one weakness: memory. When the song came to a close, tears flooded the emerald eyes of one named Makoto Kino, soldier of Jupiter. She then muttered words she thought she would never say: "I heard that song before."
