Ok so just a little something for 12-12-12. I've done one of these every year on the repetitive date for a couple years now and sadly, I guess this will be my last one as there is no month 13.

I hope it is ok as I have not played TWEWY in a while (working on 100% completion!)

Resolve

Neku Sakuraba wasn't sure if what he was doing was completely insane or not, but with a determined look on his face he decided he was going to try it anyway.

Ever since his time in the Reapers' Game, Neku's life had changed a lot. He no longer tried to constantly block out the world and other people like he used to. He still had his rare purple CAT headphones, they were much too precious for him to throw out, but he no longer used them to cut himself off from the world.

He had friends now, more friends than he'd ever had in his entire life. They still met up at the stature of Hachiko, among other things. He even saw Joshua sometimes, whom he considered a friend despite how much Shibuya's Composer infuriated him on many, many occasions.

Neku, Shiki, Beat and Rhyme went to Cat Street and visited WildKat often and Mr. H always seemed happy to see them and chat.

Still, though, he caught glimpses of the Game. He'd seen Players in restaurants, buildings and clothing stores. He noticed Reapers and their wings occasionally; he'd even seen Kariya and Uzuki at a time. But sometimes, he'd see a figure blinking in and out of existence in the streets. He was positive that catching glimpses of the UG in the RG wasn't supposed to happen, even for an ex-Player. He'd pointed out a Reaper in the UG standing in the street to his friends once but they couldn't see what he saw. He decided that he'd ask Mr. H about it next time he went to WildKat.

All of this caused him to go home and stare at all his old pins. It was perhaps a crazy thought, but he sometimes wondered whether they would work if he tried them.

In no way did he miss the Game, however. Three times was more than enough for him. But the pins, he admitted, were pretty cool.

So Neku decided to put all speculation to rest and just try to use one.

He thought about it for awhile and decided to use one of the first pins he'd acquired.

Pyrokinesis was out. He didn't think it was a good idea to start a fire in his house. In the end he decided to try the Psychokinesis pin to try and levitate an object.

He clutched the little pin in his hand, concentrated and… Nothing happened.

Neku sighed. A part of him had actually wanted it to work.

He was about to put the pin back with the others when suddenly he got the feeling that he was giving up way too easy. He went through three weeks of the Reapers' Game! He wasn't one to just give up! At least not anymore. Suddenly he could practically hear Joshua laughing at him. For trying, for failing, or maybe for giving up. He wasn't sure which one but he could not give up while the irritating Composer was laughing at him! Later he would wonder if perhaps said Composer had been there or had been imprinting him but Neku didn't bother asking because he knew Joshua would never tell either way.

Nevertheless, resolve restored, Neku took a deep breath and clutched the Psychokinesis pin.

He smirked when his lamp started floating.

Yay! That wasn't as bad or as short as I had though it was going to be!

Now I know what you're wondering, was Joshua really there? Why can Neku still see the Game and use pins? I don't really have an answer; it is supposed to be ambiguous. Which is odd, because usually I hate that…

If any of you read my story Howl Of The Wolf I want you to know that I am working on the next chapter! ^_^ It's taking a while because I'm still not sure how exactly I want it to play out but I think I have an idea…

Anyway, please tell me what you thought!
