STOLEN

(" Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun ! " )

That was all he ever heard from her, his name on her lips. Sometimes he wondered why she pursued him, why she went just as far as Naruto. But then, he would push her to the back of his mind, forgotten and wisped away, just like his childhood memories, never once remembered. He had always tried to forget back then, only thinking of killing Itachi, only thinking of revenge. He couldn't admit it, but she was always reappearing, even if it was the faintest memory. .

( Another sun soaked season fades away . . )

The night he left, she had known. Of course she knew. It took everything he had to keep walking, not to turn around and walk her home, just giving her the answer " Hn. " She poured her soul out to him, telling him that she loved him, that she couldn't live without him, even going as far as to join him. But, he was leaving to protect Konoha. To protect her. She didn't realize his actions, because he was too well masked, too hidden. All he could say to her was " Thank you. " Because, he had never been a man of many words. But she still tried, even though she knew he wouldn't stay with her. It almost scarred his heart when he knocked her out and left her on that forbidden bench. Almost.

( You have stolen my heart . . )

It seemed like a dream when he saw her again. She looked so different, and she didn't need to think before attacking him. The thing that pained his heart the most, was her hair. It was short, not long like she always had it when they were all younger. A false rumour had gone around stating that he liked girls with long hair. He didn't but, it made his heart warm when she had her hair long, showing that she cared. He couldn't mutter anymore than her name, hoping that he would be able to say more, wishing that his pride would wash away, for a mere second. But it didn't. And then, he left them again, Team 7. He couldn't pull his eyes away from her, but that was okay, since she wouldn't ask him about it. Since, they wouldn't see each other for a while.

( Too early to, say goodbye . . )

He was right, since their next meet was two years later. He was eighteen.

He wasn't surprised to see Naruto with her, but he felt his heart break when he saw their fingers entwined, Sakura holding on tight. Naruto's mouth was set in a grim line, showing that he wasn't about to let her ago, especially not to Sasuke.

He ignored her aching in his chest, trying to pull his eyes away from her; from them.

But, his hands acted on their own, his mind not functioning right, as he showed her he cared. His hand reached out to her, offering his heart, giving up everything. The blonde was angered, muttering something to Sakura, while pulling her away, leaving his best friend alone. Alone.

As his hand went limp to his side, and his body turned away from them, he missed the single tear that dropped from her eye.
