Captain Darius Ranguard was a man in his mid-thirties and had lived on Coruscant before joining the Empire shortly after turning 18. Early on, he had been given mundane assignments and missions but eventually began proving his importance to his superiors. Before long, Darius had begun moving up in the chain of command. After the Rebel Alliance was formed, he was successful in the capture or deaths of over a hundred rebel soldiers. Because of his service and skill, he was promoted to captain and put in command of an Imperial outpost. A year after of being assigned to his current outpost, Captain Ranguard quickly marched into the the command center.

"Lieutenant," Captain Ranguard said to man at a computer, "recall every soldier, both on active and inactive duty, to base. Tell them to get here as soon as possible. Emperor Palpatine has ordered for all Imperial soldiers to leave the planet as soon as possible."

"Yes, sir," the lieutenant replied. The lieutenant punched in a code into the computer and began speaking into a com. "All units, report to base. Active and inactive units, report to base and bring any belongings and family with you. Emperor Palpatine has ordered all Imperial forces to be removed from the planet surface."

Within an hour, all Imperial soldiers and their families had arrived at the base and were being taken to a Star Destroyer awaiting their arrival in an escort shuttle. When the last soldiers were out and aboard the Star Destroyer, Captain Ranguard began recording a holo message in his quarters.

"Grand Moff Tarkin," Captain Ranguard said, "Emperor Palpatine has instructed me to alert you when all Imperial soldiers are off the planet and you may commence your mission now." Captain Ranguard saluted and sent the holo.

Captain Ranguard did feel pity for what was in store. Of course, Emperor Palpatine didn't tell him what Grand Moff Tarkin's mission was, but Captain Ranguard knew full well what it was. Grand Moff Tarkin was in command of the Death Star and Ranguard had heard the capabilities of it. After all Imperial soldiers were ordered to leave and the Death Star was on its way, Aldeeran wouldn't be a part of the galaxy much longer.

The Star Destroyer entered hyperspace and Aldeeran disappeared behind it.
