Kaito looked out the of his private plane's window, sighing lightly. He was coming back to visit his hometown after 14 full years. His old best friend, Gakupo, was waiting to meet him at the pick-up zone and his nervousness about it all was killing him! The young man laid back in his seat and tried to calm himself down.
Gakupo and Kaito kept in contact ever since the bluenette left. Kaito remembered the event very vividly, almost like it had happened yesterday. His nine year-old self came up in his mind as he fell asleep in his seat, having a flashback of that day.
"Gaku-kun? I-I have to tell you something." Kaito swallowed nervously as he looked up at the older male. They were both currently sitting at the edge of a boat dock, enjoying ice-cream together.
"Hm? What is it Kaito? Ah, wait a second." Gakupo, who was eleven at the time, leaned over and gently wiped away some leftover ice cream on Kaito's cheek with a napkin.
Kaito blushed a little and pouted, "I can do it myself!"He then attempted to look angry at Gakupo, but started to giggle at himself instead.
Gakupo laughed softly and said, "I know, I know. I was just helping. Now what were you going to tell me?"
Kaito immediately stopped his giggles and faced away from Gakupo. "I-I...I-I'm..." He stopped. He swallowed again and slowly looked over at the violet-haired boy. "I'm...going to be moving..." he said softly, barely audible.
Gakupo had to lean in to hear what Kaito had said, but when he did he felt his heart drop. "When will you be...moving?"
"D-Don't be mad when I tell you when..."Kaito started.
"Why? Are you going to be leaving tomorrow or something?"
"N-No...I-I'm going to be leaving...t-today."
Gakupo gasped and then frowned, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Kaito started to get teary-eyed, "I-I didn't w-want to make y-you sad..."
Gakupo gave a soft, sad smile at Kaito, "It's alright Kaito. We can always email eachother and call eachother."
Kaito stared up at Gakupo and wiped his tears away, "I guess you're right...b-but I promise I'll come back!" He held out his pinky. "Pinky swear!"
Gakupo chuckled and put his pinky up as well, "Pinky swear."
Suddenly Kaito was jolted awake by some person on the speaker saying they had arrived back at his hometown. The bluenette straightened himself up and got up.
"Well..." Kaito said, "Here goes nothing." And with that he stepped off the plane.
