Uriel Looked On... A Prologue

Uriel looked on, weary from all the years of war, her contingent of Heaven's finest, the Hellguard behind her. She was aching to get back to the White City, to lay down her arms and to purge herself of the demons that plagued her. She found memories of Abbadon flowing freely, trying to stem them only made it worse. She found herself wondering why the enigmatic horseman War had spared her life, not just once but multiple times.

But most of all she wondered what now ?, her battles were over, and yet she had a premonition that she would be seeing the horsemen yet again. She did not stay back to watch War unite with the other Horsemen, rather she issued marching orders to her Second In Command and ordered for the portal back home to be opened, with the destroyer dead they could now return to the White City with their heads held high.

As the last of her Hellguard troops entered the portal, Uriel turned back only to see the four nephilim in silent embrace, Death patted War's shoulder, his mask stained with blood and she remembered words which may have been spoken eons ago as she silently mouthed them " And the number of the horsemen shall ever be four".

She raised her hand to the brothers and they returned the gesture acknowledging her presence, and then with a swift turn she entered the portal and disappeared in a brilliant white flash.

Death gazed into his brother's eyes, and knew in an instant, as only a brother can, that his brother War was developing feelings for Uriel. He chose not to speak about it, for now was neither the time nor the place to do so. They had other matters at hand and a certain council to slay.
