STARRY EYES
The sun was turning the sky a radiant orange and red mix.
She looked up into the early night sky.
There........there it is.
The first star of the night. And if memory served correctly then that would mean....... it's tonight. The meteor shower. This was something she's waited to see for a long time. Since she couldn't see it in the future she came to the past to get a better look at it.

Sesshomaru turned his head in the direction of the well........ 'She's back.' He stood and walked away from the little camp where Ah-Un was watching a sleeping Rin, not saying a word to the green imp that had the annoying habit of groveling at his feet.

Kagome walked to a clearing far enough away from the well that no one would suspect anything. She pulled out her sleeping bag, unzipping it the whole way and laying it flat. "He will be here soon."
No sooner had she finished that did the said dog demon float into the raised her eyes to greet him quietly. "Good evening, My Lord." After receiving the usual lift of eyebrow and the one word greeting of "Miko" from the demon lord, Kagome dove back inside her monstrous backpack and pulled out a bento lunch her mom managed to fit in just before the journey back to the past. Setting out chopsticks and rice bowls for both she sat and waited till he crossed the clearing before pouring a tea in the small glass cups she had brought just for this occasion.
A streak of light shot across the now darkened sky. Kagome looked up and smiled. The night has always fascinated her, but here as of late it had brought some measure of peace to the hectic life that seemed to follow her where ever she went. Thanks mostly to the nearly complete jewel that hung from her neck. Touching the cold bauble she couldn't help but think about what will happen when it is finished.
"Thinking only decreases the possibilities." Sesshomaru brought her attention back to the world from her inner musings. Yes, he knew that question plagued her mind just as it does in his own everyday.
"Huh?" 'What is it about him...... that makes me feel so.....?'
Another streak of white light lit up the darkening sky.
She grabbed her cup and moved to sit on the blanket. Sesshomaru looked up when another one lit up the sky just as he sat next to Kagome.
"There's a meteor shower tonight. The sky through the well isn't as clear as it is here so I came back to watch it." Kagome smiled wider. "I bet Souta is jealous right now, he wanted to see it as well but....... I didn't want to bring him here." 'I wanted this to be just us.'
This time two lights went across the sky. Three more...... no four...... "It's time."
"Hn."
"See." Kagome quickly finished off her ramen and laid back on the blanket. The multitude of lights were amazing. Zooming across the black sky, shining a bright light on the valley. Unconsciously, Kagome scooted closer to the taiyoukai. The action was mirrored. Soon they were snuggling under the spectacular looked over to the one half asleep in his arms. Her eyes were skyward, staring at the wonderful night they were sharing. 'Is this what it would be like........ in a year...... two years...... forever........ with Kagome?' When the stars had stopped falling he wrapped his arms tighter around her and like that they quietly slept.
