((Disclaimer- I do not own anything. I had a more elaborate thing, but it got erased))
Okay, this stinks. All the stuff i had written down got erased. All well.
I hope you enjoy!
Someone dear to me once said, "You never know what you might find when you open your eyes, heart, and mind to the world around you." That was before my family was murdered by bandits, before I fled Galla with Onua, seeking a new life in Tortall.
At the time, I took that statement to mean that if we open ourselves up, we will find a world beyond our own, a place where we could have grand adventures and find our true love.
Over the years I continued with that way of thinking. It was not until recently that I have begun to differ in that way of thought.
When she spoke those words to me, I do not believe she meant for them to take on this new meaning. I believe she had intended them to represent finding a magical land away from the hardships of our life.
But now, the quote means so much more. Now it represents the transition from childhood, to being an adult. How as children, we are so very ignorant to the world around us. How as we mature, we may not like what we find around us. How we must accept what we see and be happy for what we have, even if we have nothing.
It shows the discovery of how there are not only two sides in a war. No white or black, good or evil, there are only lots of shades of grey. A perfect example of this would be Rikash, the Stormwing. Did I not label him as 'evil' because he was an immortal known to feast on the dead? Yet he proved me wrong and showed me the flaw in my judgment.
This also shows how we truly do not know what we will find. Our lives are mysteries. No one knows how their time in the world will end. No one knows what the next day will have in store.
Sometimes we will like what we find, and at others we will only find grief.
I am still growing up now, still struggling to live in this fast paced world. All I know is that I'll never know what I might find when I open my eyes, heart, and mind to the world around me. For better, or for worse.

I hope you liked it!
Just random with poor grammar etc, but it probably makes more sense than the latin translation i was supposed to be doing when I wrote it. haha.
