A/N this idea came to me when I was writing Beautiful and I decided to make it its whole own story. This, like Beautiful is a oneshot.
Damon climbed into Elena's room and sat on her bed. He stayed, just sitting there, smelling the scent of Elena for a while. He stood up and walked over to her dresser and mirror and looked at all the photos scattered around,
He picked one up. It was one of her and Bonnie dressed up for Halloween. They looked to be about six years old. Elena was a vampire and Bonnie was a princess. 'Ironic' Damon thought. He picked up another Halloween picture, in which they were a little older. Elena was a witch, Bonnie was dressed as little red riding hood, and Caroline was a cheerleader. 'Again ironic. Bonnie should be the witch'
The next one was of her and Matt outside at a family barbeque. Damon could see what looked like Jeremy in the background. Elena and Matt were holding each other and smiling. Damon could tell it was when they were together
'She looks so happy so, full of life' Damon thought
He scanned his eyes over more photos. There were some of her and Matt kissing and a lot of her Bonnie and Caroline. Some were of her mom, dad, Jeremy, and her. He saw one where they were all gathered around the Christmas tree dressed in red and green. There was another one of Elena, probably thirteen, Twirling a sparkler around with other small fireworks going off in the background. He saw one of her and Matt lying down on a towel, content with just holding each other.
All of Elena's most cherished memories were spread out for her to remember and look at. Her life was documented here. She was innocent , so small, happy, and carefree. He saw some pictures of her and Stefan off to the side and one of her and Damon. He recognized it as one he had taken while they were in Georgia. She was smiling, but she didn't have that look anymore. That glow. She looked worried. Come to think of it that was all he saw of her these days.
Damon made it his goal then and there to make her happy again. To just give her one day of being free of problems. He would make her happy again.
Damon picked up a small photo of just Elena. She was laughing. He slipped it in his pocket and silently slid out the window.

What have Stefan and Elena done for fun other than going to that restaurant place where Matt works and they always play pool?
Are Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev dating? I know there is speculation, but have they admitted it yet? They would be such a cute couple.
