Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Special Funnel" from Season 4, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was wintertime on the Island of Sodor. Peter Sam was puffing nervously along the line, with his funnel wobbling along the way.
His funnel had been wobbling ever since his accident with the freight cars, and now the mighty wind was trying to blow it away.
Soon, he arrived back at the sheds.
"My funnel is ready to break!" he complained. "I wish Sir Topham Hatt would bring me a new one. He said it would be special."
The other engines laughed. They were fond of Peter Sam, but his special funnel had become quite a joke.
Later that day, the weather got worse. Snow was falling and the wind was howling harder than ever before.
Rusty, the little diesel, worked hard carrying workmen up and down the line. The workmen were shoveling snow off the tracks so that accidents would be prevented.
The next day, Rusty's driver brought bad news.
"The tracks by the tunnel are completely whited out with snow! We must clear the line before trouble occurs!"
The work took longer than expected, but the weather soon changed, and it became warm enough that the snow was able to melt, and the workmen could finish at last.
Peter Sam was much careful as he took the morning train over the tunnel tracks.
Then, there was trouble. They soon approached the tunnel, and the tracks became curved and bumpy.
And then, it happened. As they neared the end of the tunnel, they noticed a large icicle above the track. The icicle fell, and knocked Peter Sam's funnel right to the ground!
"We better keep going." said the driver. "We don't want to be late."
They set off again, but without his funnel, Peter Sam's journey became much difficult.
Later, his fireman noticed an old drainpipe lying beside the track.
"We can use this as a funnel for now!"
Peter Sam managed to finish his journey, using the drainpipe as a funnel.
When he arrived back at the sheds, the other engines laughed, and Sir Handel began to sing a song.
"Peter Sam lost his funnel, going through the tunnel. He has put us all to shame, 'cause now his funnel's a drain!"
The teasing continued all night, until the next day, when Sir Topham Hatt arrived with Peter Sam's new funnel.
"This is a very special funnel." explained Sir Topham Hatt. "It contains special pipes, which makes it much easier to puff and make stream. You'll feel a different engine!"
Everyone loved Peter Sam's new funnel, including Sir Handel.
"He's the fastest engine on the line! He makes work more easier!"
Now the engines don't laugh at Peter Sam's funnel, instead they wish they had one just like him!
