The wind is cold, the late night's moonlight

Lights up tomorrow, it seems harder

Than I'd thought

Hotaru stared at Uryu, stars twinkling in her brown lanterns for eyes as she drank in every detail of the Quincy archer. He really was beautiful; porcelain skin with no flaws that when flushed it was like a splash of spiced red wine against eggshells, cold piercing gunmetal blue eyes that could either kill you with a glance or cause you to give birth to billions of butterflies, night black hair that clashed against his snow white skin that framed his delicate face.

She bit her lip, her sharp canine digging into the rosy pink flesh and threatening to summon crimson and stain her skin. "U-Uryu…" She murmured, the word felt awkward on her tongue; it was bitter and chalky yet it melted to a bubbling sweet warmth in her mouth. Yes, while it felt strange and foreign in her pretty mouth, it felt oh so right to say. "Uryu…"

Uryu blinked, hearing the girl say his name over and over to herself. Such a simple act caused a flurry of emotions to stir inside his ribcage before it exploded as if someone had forced him to swallow a firecracker. Heat attacked his body; a heavy dusting of pink-bordering-on-scarlet was dumped onto his face and it sank in his chest, warmth and embarrassment swirling about in his abdomen. All this just from Hotaru saying his first name.

The chilly wind of the night didn't bother the couple in the slightest, the warmth in their hearts was more than enough to withstand any chill.

"…Hotaru." Uryu said, warmth and love practically dripping from his hushed voice. He turned to her, his thin red lips curled into a small smile. The normally cold expression in his blue hues was noticeably lacking, instead the same warmth that was in his smile and voice was in them, a mischievous twinkle was just the cherry on top of this expression.

The girl spoken of let out a high pitched squeal, dropping the hot chocolate in her hands and causing liquid hot to spill onto her tanned snow boots. Her mitten clad hands slapped themselves over Hotaru's bright red face, her shrill cries muffled by her mittens.

Getting over their awkwardness was harder than any of them would think.
