A/N: Written for the prompt "revenge" at a Draco/Pansy last drabble writer standing community, dmpp_ldws. It won first place.
"They're all beautiful, Pansy. Whichever one you'd like."
She narrowed her eyes at him, and considered Draco. His words were correct, exactly what he should say, but there was a hint of annoyance in them she didn't like. And inattention, which she liked even less.
"Do you like the blue or green one better?"
She kept her eyes on the mirror, examining her emerald-clad reflection critically. He flicked his gaze over her, but his attention was quick and perfunctory, with not nearly enough time dedicated to admiration.
"That one, I think. So green." He flashed her a smile, but it did nothing to mitigate the damage. She hadn't modeled a blue gown for him - as if she'd wear another house's colors to the end of term dance - and he was already looking away again.
In the mirror, she followed his gaze, intent on something beyond the mirror's reflective eye. She turned slightly to see, and found Daphne Greengrass, trying on an incredibly short silver dress that made her look rather cheap and common. But when she bent over to adjust the strap of her heels, it revealed an incredible amount of skin. The pose had the desired effect, and Draco sucked in a soft gasp of air behind her. As Daphne straightened again, Pansy spied her smile in the mirror, and her satisfaction made Pansy's insides twist with anger.
"Buy them both, I'll decide later." She dumped the two most expensive dresses in his lap and stormed to the dressing room, letting the door slam behind her with a crash. "This one too, I think," she called back.
In the privacy of the changing room, she made no attempt to slip out of the gown just yet. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, focusing on the outrage and jealousy and drawing strength from them. So Daphne thought she could steal Draco with a flash of leg and a pretty smile, did she? She would find otherwise, and Pansy would make sure she suffered for the attempt. Revenge would be sweet.
