Sanji glared down beside the sink. It seemed too weird, but at the same time how was it he'd never noticed or thought about it before? It was trivial, that was for damn sure, but at the same time it perplexed and amused him in a way he wasn't sure how to explain. He sighed, drying his hair sideways with his towel and contemplating as he stared.
Of course he recognized his tooth brush in the cup. It was the clean one and it was a very pleasing blue. If a stranger happened to come to their apartment in dire need of someone else's tooth brush his would be the obvious choice, compared to its odd and rugged looking companion, the green brush. It was uncanny how something stupid and inanimate used to scrape crap off of teeth could reflect their owner so well. It was definitely a face only a few and or it's tooth brush mother could ever love. Definitely like Zoro.
But what else did these simple, stupid things reflect? Sanji must've been bored, he knew, to be looking so into it, but upon moving in with Zoro a week or so ago he just had noticed. Did their toothbrushes really end up like this every night in the cup, settled against one another in the curve, in quiet harmony? Well, granted it would be weird if they weren't quiet and in harmony, but still regardless. Was there ever a time that he and Zoro were like that?
God he felt so stupid. He didn't even have to look up in the mirror to see the blush of embarrassment on his cheeks for even thinking about such utter crap. The blond settled his bath towel over his shoulders and leaned against the sink. Fine, one more thing then he could just move on with his life. Hesitantly he reached out a finger, guiding his tooth brush away from the side lightly. With the same finger on his opposite hand he did the same with Zoro's. Then, channeling his inner childishness, practically pouting his lips as he did it, he pressed the bristles of each brush together. If they were an inanimate Zoro and himself, they should be happy too with their own indirect kisses. Maybe.
It made him lightly grin and feel like such a moron. But it also expressed his feelings quite nicely. He was excited and loved being here together with that oaf, even if he wouldn't say it outright. It was the little things too that made it such an experience to enjoy. Not that he would've done it before, only now could he do silly things like make their tooth brushes kiss. It was a good thing nothing about this was going to leave the restroom with him.
"What are you doing?"
Talk about speaking to soon. Sanji nearly jumped in surprise, his fingers -which were still initiating the kiss of bad hygiene to his side- retreated quickly. He looked back at Zoro, who was watching him with a raised eyebrow in the doorway. The blonds mouth dropped and he tried to find any sane explanation, but his words failed him. He watched as Zoro just rolled his eyes and came on in close, reaching across to grab his tooth brush.
"Quit pretending already and get on with it." The Marimo breathed irritably, taking his own morning kiss from the cook.
Sanji, still flustered, shoved him off and took a step back, wiping at his mouth with the back of his hand. "Bastard, what did I tell you about kissing me with morning breath?"
Zoro had already turned to the mirror and started the water to brush his teeth. "Yeah well, next time don't play Barbie's with my tooth brush."
So maybe there were some things Sanji was still getting used to - like locking the door.
Author's Note: Just a little stupid probably out of character thing I drabbled when I was supposed to be working on other things. Its not beta'd so yeah you probably saw a few mistakes here and there, sorry about that. XD Hope you enjoyed this little thing anyway and are having a great day/evening!
