The Vision
Cordelia came down the stairs and into the lobby of the Hyperion. A figure was standing in the half shadows in front of the open weapons cabinet. Apparently choosing a weapon, she glanced his direction.
"Hey Gunn" she called.
"Sugar! Do you need your eyes checking?" the musical voice asked.
"Lorne!" She looked again. Closely.
Starting at the floor with the white and black sneakers, at the bottom of the slender leather clad legs, her eyes drifted up those legs pausing at a pert bottom clad in leather. Into which was tucked a tight black T-shirt. Every curve of Lorne's toned back and shoulders was on display through the stretched cotton. She couldn't stop staring. What was he wearing? Where was the brightly coloured shirt and suit? The loud but carefully matched clothes. This wasn't Lorne surely.
"Lorne?" she said with wonder.
"You did that bit already, honey!" he leaned into the cabinet picking up a small axe.
"Lorne." Cordelia repeated.
"Again with my name. Are you all right?" Lorne turned to face her, the axe in hand.
Cordelia's hand flew to her mouth. The front of Lorne was just as appealing at the back. The tight leather pants showed an impressive bulge at the front, and a well-muscled six-pack chest was covered in the black T-shirt. It was the first colour she had seen on him which didn't clash against his green skin. There was a twinkle in his eyes as he moved towards her. He stopped mere inches from her. She could smell him, a scent she couldn't identify but nice all the same.
"Lorne" she whispered.
"Well at least you know who I am!" he laughed moving off, swinging the axe at his side. She turned to watch his leather clad rear swing as he walked toward the basement. He turned back to her at the door.
"Rats!" he supplied nodded towards the basement. And winking at her disappeared down the stairs.
Cordelia was standing staring at the basement door when Gunn and Fred arrived.
"Good morning Cordy" Fred said
"Yo! Cor - what's happening" Gunn said at the same time. They seemed to notice her frozen in place, and glanced at each other.
"Cordelia?" Gunn waved his hand in front of her face "you in there"
She blinked and turned to him.
"Wow" was all she could say.
