Hello my lovely readers! As said in the summary, this is a (very short) fanfic involving the Doctor and Donna. I suppose this is sort of an AU because this involves 10 watching Donna through portions of her life. I hope you enjoy! Please R&R!

Broken Memories; Broken Hearts

At first it was small, infrequent occurrences. Like the way the trees seemed to softly whisper her name: "Donna, Donna." Or when she saw a man in a pinstripe suit. Her heart would quicken and then feel empty and hollow. Sure, she had a good life. She was married with two little girls – but it always felt like something was missing. Or someone.

Every night she had the same dream. She was traveling with a man- her very best friend. They went on marvelous adventures. They saw the stars, saved universes, saw the future and the past. But she could never see the man's face. And every morning she would wake up with tears in her eyes and she didn't know why. She felt so much emotion: sadness, pain, regret, anger every time she thought about this magical man and she had never once met him. So many things left unsaid. He left her in the dust. So many things unanswered. She had so many strange tendencies: like her favorite color. Blue. Not a dark, duke, Persian or Egyptian blue. It was right in between. A name she couldn't put a finger on.

When she went into town, she felt watched. Not in an eerie or frightening sense. But more like the way a mother watches their child play, live life.

And he cried for her. He had wanted to take her so many places. The DoctorDonna. Mates forever. He missed her attitude. The way she confronted the universe. The most important woman in all of creation. She slipped through his fingers like dust. He still sometimes went back. He watched her. Watched her live life. She was an amazing wife and mother. He knew that she still remembered some things. He knew that she suffered and didn't know why. But she was still Donna. She still was full of life, and love, and potential. He whispered her name. And he watched and listened. And he always said goodbye, even though she couldn't hear it. Goodbye.

A/N: Once again, I hope you enjoyed!
