A/N: I don't own Psych :)

"You're gonna grow up and get a job. I know 'cause I'm psychic!" Johnny Spencer exclaimed, holding his hands to his sandy blonde head.

Juliet and Shawn laughed as they sat on a bench at the playground and watched the seven-year-old give 'predictions' to the other kids.

"You know, Shawn," Juliet started, "I always knew you weren't psychic."

Shawn turned to her looking surprised. "You did?"

She laughed. "Yes, from the day we met."

"But how?" he asked, aghast.

"You made a mistake," she replied.

Shawn laughed, "I can assure you, I never make mistakes."

"Oh?" she challenged.

He nodded, "I think I would know if I messed up, Jules."

He moved his hands to his head and she slapped them. "Would you stop that!"

He smirked and shifted on the bench. "So what is this big mistake I supposedly made?"

She smiled. "In your assessment of me, you mentioned my parents."

"Yeah?"

"Well, you supposed that my parents had been together thirty years."

Shawn smacked his head. "Those weren't your parents!"

She laughed, "Nope, they were my Aunt Bet and Uncle Rowland."

Shawn laughed, then looked confused. "Then why did you get so mad all those years ago?" he asked.

She sighed. "I guess I wanted to believe badly enough that I was willing to ignore any slip ups."

He frowned, "I'm sorry."

She shrugged, "The past is passed, that was more than a decade ago."

He smiled, "Well, I'm glad we're on good terms."

She smiled back, "Yeah, me too."

She looked at her watch, "It's almost four. My parents get in about two hours from now."

He sighed. "So you have to take off?"

She nodded. "Sorry, Shawn."

He shook his head, "I completely understand."

She smiled, then turned toward the playground, "Kids, time to go."

"Coming, mommy," the little boys called.

"We should do this again,"Shawn told her as three boys ran over.

"Absolutely," she replied with a smile.

She looked down at the dark haired preteen and sandy haired six-year-old, "Kaden, Dallas, say goodbye."

"Bye, Johnny! Bye, Shawn!"

"Hey, thanks for coming down," he added.

She smiled, "See you around, Shawn."

"See you around," he replied.

She walked over to her car and settled Dallas in his carseat.

As she pulled out to start the hour trip home from Thousand Oaks, she heard Johnny call, "Bye Mrs. Lassiter!" and smiled, glad she gave that friendship another chance.

A/N: Just to clear up any questions, Shawn lives in Thousand Oaks with his son, Johnny. In this world, Henry and Maddie got back together, and Henry and Shawn moved to Thousand Oaks where Maddie found a permanent police department. Shawn is a regular police consultant here, and Juliet drove out to visit for the day with her two kids. Lassiter and Marlowe got divorced, too, in this world pretty quickly, and he and Juliet have been married for 13 years. Before the start of the story, Shawn and Juliet were recalling old times, and Shawn's son was listening and copying what he heard.
