Csilla: just a mini drabble I wrote while me and Kris are doing another story collab~

Gray stared out at the peaceful sea; it had been a decade since his adopted mom moved him and his adopted sibling to the bustling city of Fiore.
"...ten years, huh... almost feels like yesterday..." He continued the rest in his head: 'that I met that idiot'.
- TEN YEARS AGO -
"Class, I would like to introduce a new student... Gray Fullbuster," The girls cooed at the raven that stood at the front of the class.
The teacher, to all the girls' dismay, pointed to the empty seat beside a sleeping rosette form named Natsu Dragneel; "would you mind waking him up while you're back there?" the teaceher whispered with a smile.
Gray pouted, why was he put in charge of some idiot that couldn't stay awake, as he headed to his designated seat before poking the sleeping form in the side. The form sprug up in surprise before glaring at him, which didn't last long as his cobalt eyes filled with confusion as he asked: "Who are you?"
"New student, idiot..."
"That's a weird name for someone,"
"That's not my name... my name is Gray. Gray Fullbuster,"
"That's an even weirder name,"
"Like you're one to talk, Natsu," He emphasized each syllable of the other boy's name to prove his point.
"Excuse me, my daddy gave me that name... I bet your parents didn't know what to name you so they just picked a color that represented your personality," Natsu mocked as he acted all high-and-mighty.
Gray's face suddenly darkened as he turned away from the rosette and stared down at his feet; when he didn't get a retort, Natsu looked over about to make another snide remark but something in Gray's onyx eyes made him stop.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to go that far... Family troubles?" Natsu's voice suddenly softened enough to direct the raven't attention back to him.
Gray didn't need to speak any words; his expression spoke volumes to the other. Natsu merely smiled: "You don't have to tell me anything... but," his smile changing to a grin, "if you ever need someone to talk to: I'm here,"
It was those words that made Natsu, Gray's first friend in Fiore. And even now after ten years of friendship, they had only grown closer and practically inseparable. Gray, now 17-years-old, sighed; the feeling that someone is watching of him made him glare back only to soften once he saw who it was behind him: Natsu.
"What are you doing out here? Soul searching?" Immediately, his friend opened up with playful teasing; Gray chuckle in response:"Maybe I was,"
That stopped the rosette's teasing as the other looked over at his friend curiously; "I'm kidding... I was thinking back to when I first moved here," the raven mused as he went back to staring out at the sea.
There was silence and finally Natsu spoke: "That's a weird name for someone," and without a heartbeat hesitation the other retorted, "That's not my name... my name is Gray. Gray Fullbuster,"
Turning to face his friend, Natsu added: "That's an even weirder name,"
The two burst out in laughter before shortly using the other to support their laughter-shaken bodies; their faces were inches apart when Natsu's voice broke through the laughing: "Gray, I love you"
"I love you too, Natsu" Those words were the truth; in ten years time they had gone from friends to best friends and finally a love interest.

Csilla: I had this idea of Natsu saying Gray's name was weird and them as kids just worked and also... I can't help but picture Natsu being a little slow XD
Now I shall get back to writing my "Who Says Fairy Tales Only Happen In Books" before a mad mob of fanfiction readers come and hunt me down then lock me in a broom closet. And then make me write for hours on end!
