Star-Spangled
The pilots Heero, Quatra,
Duo, Trowa, and Wufie, had decided to take a trip to the cemetery to honor all
the people they had worked with and killed. While standing among the graves and
colony flags they saw, a few yards away, another large plot of graves. Three
ghostly figures, girls stood before them tears running down their shimmering
faces. One had dark red hair, tied in a ponytail. She wore shorts and a white
shirt. She carried a candle. The girl beside her had short brown hair. She wore
jeans and a red shirt. In her hands she carried a strange flag. The square on
top was blue and dotted with white stars. Red and white strips covered the
rest. Even though the air was still the flag blew softly in an invisible wind.
The third and final girl had long strait black hair that she kept down. She
wore kaki caprice and a red shirt. She held a banquet of white roses. Setting
the flag between the graves and placing the roses beside it they whispered
"God Bless America". The red
head turned towards the pilots. But she seemed to look strait threw them. The
two other girls slowly walked away. Softly the red head blew out her candle, a
strong wind blew and when the pilots could see again, she was gone. With very
slow steps Duo walked up to the strange flag and kneeled before it. Silently he
cried. The other looked on with confusion and a slight shook. Then, tears in
his eyes he started humming a tune. To his fellow pilots it was like another
language but to him it was an old friend.
Oh, say can you see
By the dawns early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilights, last
gleaming
Whose brood strips and
bright stars
Through the perilous fights
And the ramparts we saw
Were so gallantly streaming
And the rockets red glare
The booms bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still
there
Oh, say does that star
spangled banner
Yet wave
For the land of the free
And the home
Of the braveā¦
The End
