Chapter 1 - Jacob
"I woke up with a start. The rain continued to pound against the old window, and the trees cast dreadful shadows. The sun was yet to rise. With my forehead beaded with sweat and my heart poumding, I shuffled to the bathroom.
I couldnt believe Sam wanted me to go to school and leave Bella alone, especially since Edward had left he again! For the 2nd time! And yet she still loved him. Why she forgave him the first time he left is beyond me. All I can do is hope she chooses me over him now.
No one from the pack understands why I love Bella so much. Niether do I actually. My love for her scares me. I feel like I will fall apart if she doesnt like me, if she marries that blood-sucker. I hate to see her pretty brown eyes fill with tears. No, they will never understand.
"Jacob!"
I know who that silky voice belongs to without turning around. "Hey Bella," I say, satisfied to see that she was okay. She was happier than she had been for a while now, it was a great improvement. I was about to ask her what she was doing here, I thought she was going to stay home. But then I heard the words I dreaded to hear-
"I've made up my mind Jake. I'm gonna be a vampire."
