Kallisti

A/N: 'Kallisti' means 'To the Prettiest One', so as you can guess this is a poem about Eris, Goddess of Discord. Oh yeah, also I suck at poetry so please be gentle.

Anger wants to boil in her

It wants to burst out

And smite.

But she refuses anger,

That red mist of emotion

And settles for vengeance

Cold, calculated, cruel

Emotionless

Flawless

Spreading the bitter seeds

Of the Goddess snubbed.

They laugh inside

Not at her

They spare her that much

But they have forgotten her

Forgotten discord

And the wrath of a Goddess

And the pretty smile

That troublemaking brings her.

They laugh

They dance

Celebrating life

And its golden joys

She will give them gold.

Beautiful gold.

The last gift of her pride.

She storms in

And stands

Dark and sinister

Anger flows

Through her

Immortal veins.

She is silent

Biting back poisonous words

Letting them take in her sight

The sight of a Goddess

Snubbed

By her brothers

And sisters.

Immortal against immortal.

If they want trouble

Then trouble they have invited

By snubbing

The troublemaker

Goddess of Discord.

The room is painted

Red and black

With the chaos

She predicts.

She smiles.

Revenge is sweet.

Spite is sweeter.

She wants to

See

Their troubled faces

As they argue.

She lets her palm

Open wide

To reveal its

Most precious

Treasure.

An apple of gold

A beautiful gift

For a beautiful

Immortal

A sweet apple

Contaminated

With the worm

Of her spite

At their ignorance

Of discord.

She leaves

Without a trace

Disappearing

Just as they wished

She would

But behind is

A golden mark

Her gift of spite

That captures

Their eyes

And hearts.

Golden and sweet

Bearing cruel words.

Kallisti.
