The first time Ravis had heard about St. Valentine's day, it was 1783, when Ivan mentioned it in passing as something his new boss had learned about during his time in the west. He thought little of it, having nobody to share the day with. The first time he celebrated the day was in 1992.

Ravis had just moved into his new apartment in Riga, after leaving the Soviet Union house the summer before and crashing with his boss' family until he could find an apartment. He was still getting used to everything, from hearing his on native tongue again, to the increase in paperwork. It was February 14th, but he didn't pay much attention to that. After all, he hadn't seen Hungary since she had left the house in October of 1989, which was over 2 years ago, and with so many changes going on in his own government, he hadn't had time to visit anyone.

He was sitting at his desk, doing paperwork, when there was a knock at the door. He frowned, but stood up and went to answer it. Elizabeta was standing there holding a bunch of daisies tied with a crimson ribbon and smiling sweetly. He was speechless for half a minute before he said, "Elizabete. I…I wasn't exp..ecting you."

She reached forward and gently touched his cheek, "I missed you, Ravis."

He blushed and stepped back, "Y…you can come in, if you want."

She stepped in and looked around as he closed the door. He fidgeted nervously, "It's not much, but it's home. Do want to sit down?"

Elizabeta smiled slightly and asked, "Do you have a vase for the flowers?"

Ravis nodded and took them before hurrying into the kitchen and filling a glass with water. As he did that, Elizabeta sank down on the love seat, which was the only piece of furniture other than the desk in what Ravis called his third room.

There was no door to the kitchen, so he could hear her as she spoke, "I hadn't seen you in a while, so I figured I would come visit you. I hope you don't mind."

Ravis replied, "No, of course not. I would have come to Budapest, but I've been so busy with work and…" He trailed off.

"I understand," she watched him through the doorway, admiring his slim frame, "I've been swamped with work as well."

He came back into the room, holding the daisies in a glass of water, with the ribbon tied around it. He looked for a place to set them down, and his eyes alighted on his desk. He walked over to it and set the glass on the corner, "Thank you for the daisies. They're the Latvian national flower you know."

She smiled, "That's why I picked them."

He blushed and turned around, "I could get you something to drink if you want. Maybe some water…"

"I'm fine," she patted the place next to her, "Come sit with me."

He did so, gently lowering himself down beside her. She gentle took his face in her hands and kissed him. He brought his arms around her and kissed back.

A/N-And then the adjourned to the bedroom. I just felt like writing something sweet and fluffy for Valentine's Day. The boss mentioned in the first paragraph is Peter I also known as Peter The Great. And Daisies are Latvia's nation flower. I didn't put this with Cradle of Darkness because I felt it was too light and fluffy. And I think that's it. Reviews=Love.
