A/N: This one came to me this week watching "Unspoken." Kensi told the team she has a "rule" and "boundaries." I get the feeling Deeks might not share her opinions on these matters...Set sometime Season 6-ish.
"Chocolate is definitely better than strawberry," Kensi stated definitively.
"Absolutely not!" Sam retorted. "Strawberry has a much more complex flavor profile. Chocolate is only one note."
"You're both wrong," Callen interjected. "The only ice cream flavor that matters is mint chocolate chip. A big bowl of mint chocolate chip is all you need."
"Ooh, he has a point," Kensi conceded.
"No, he doesn't," Sam argued. "You got chocolate chips getting in there, messing up the texture."
"What do you have against chocolate?" Kensi asked with a frown.
"Yeah, what do you have against chocolate?" Callen echoed.
"I don't have anything against chocolate. It just doesn't belong in my ice cream."
"You're a chocolate hater," Kensi told him, crossing her arms.
"I am not," Sam sighed and looked up at Deeks who had just joined the group. "Deeks, you're a foodie. Help me out here."
"You're never going to win a fight about chocolate with Kensi," Deeks told him. "Kens, can I uh, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Yeah, sure," Kensi said, rising and following him down the hall.
"In here." He pushed open the door to the burn room and allowed her to pass.
"What's going on? Are you—" she turned around and was cut off as his lips crashed against hers.
Of their own volition her arms wrapped themselves around his torso, tugging him closer. Her mouth moved against his and the next thing she knew he had pushed her up against the wall.
He moved away from her mouth and began kissing her neck and that was when her brain kicked back into gear. "Deeks," she said breathlessly, "Deeks. Deeks stop."
"Please tell me it's opposite day," came his muffled reply.
"Deeks," she laughed and pushed him away. "Deeks come on. We can't."
He lifted his head and grinned at her. "Oh, I think we can."
"Deeks," she put a hand on his chest, "we have to talk about this."
He groaned. "Talking is so much less interesting than kissing you."
"I know, I know it is," her eyes sparkled with mirth. "But we're at work. We can't."
"Why not?" Deeks asked. "I like you at work just as much as I like you at home."
The door opened and Eric stepped in carrying a stack of files. He looked up and froze. "Oh god. Oh," he clapped a hand over his eyes. "I didn't see anything." He fumbled blindly for the door handle. "I just…sorry…you two can…I'll go."
He escaped through the door, slamming it loudly behind him.
"That," Kensi said. "That is why we need boundaries."
"What, because Eric doesn't know where babies come from I have to keep my hands to myself?" Deeks asked.
"Deeks…"
"Kens, they've already made it clear that they all know."
"I know they know. This isn't about who's aware of…us. We have to keep our personal lives separate from work. You know that Deeks. It gets too complicated."
"You need boundaries," Deeks said.
"Yeah. I need boundaries," she echoed.
"Okay," he said. "Okay, I get it."
"Good. Thank you," she replied. "Now let's go catch Eric before he tells everyone what he thinks he just saw."
She started for the door but Deeks reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her back into his chest.
"Deeks—!"
"You said you needed boundaries," he told her with a smile. "I never said I did."
A/N: Hetty's going to have to get rid of that burn room. Leave your love in the reviews!
