A scream echoed through the hallways, scaring all of the boys at St. Vladimir's Orphanage. Shivers ran down their spines, their eyes squeezed shut, and they prayed for whoever it was that was getting beaten. No doubt it was Kurt Wager, the blue demon-like mutant, with black hair, pointed teeth, pointy ears, and a tail, who got beaten up all the time for being him. One boy checked Kurt's bed the next morning and saw the blue boy, bandages around his torso, head, and arms. The boy knew that Kurt had put them on himself, for they didn't cover all of the cuts, some of which were still bleeding, plus none of the adults would do it for him.
So the boy left a note that jokingly said 'Get better, Kurt, or else', and redid the bandages while Kurt was asleep. Kurt read the note, enjoying the fact that at least someone bothered with him.
Screams ran through Stryker's base at Alkali Lake. They came from Kurt Wagner, who had now become Nightcrawler. Those screams would haunt people for years. All of those screams.
